RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
Nice cars. I have a question maybe you guys can help me out. I am rebuilding my TT01 and here is Cali we have an nice asphalt track and I am trying to figure out what the best tires for the condition are. The hobby shop owner at the track says everyone uses Team Sorex 36R tires but I was wondering what the consensus is from you guys who obviously run your cars more than I do. I have been thinking about getting these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=003. Right now my setups will be Pro Stock Trinity motor or a Tamiya TZ don't know if that will help. I have most of the other hopups still debating on getting the ball diff or just keeping what I have. Any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated. Will post new pics once I get her up and running again. Another thing have you guys all switched your screw kits to hex drive titanium screws or just kept what was in the package and used thread lock on them?

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
well d, i guess it depends on the surface you're running!
are you gonna drift or race?
that's important too!
bearings makes a great difference!
i got super hard springs for the front and hard for the back but that depends on the surface again!
i'm running on asphlt too but it's rough!
lot of cracks, small holes and all that kind of crap!lol
i don't race, i'm a drifter all the way!
well i tryied once with some hpi tires!
the guy who sold them to me said they were for drift but in fact he sold me some racing tires!
i don't know the part number tho!
for drifting i used some good ole yokomo tires and when i'm out of cash some abs tires!
but abs tires doesn't have much grip so i try not to use them that much!
my tt-01 it's stock all the way!
the only thing i change are the spirngs for the suspension
i got hard in the front and super hard in the back!
it's the opposite of the yokomo!
i have a 15x2 motor in my tt-01 and a 19x2 in my yok!
they almost have the same top speed on both.
the gearing it's stock for both of them!
i love my cars dude!!! lol

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
My car will not be drifting just racing. I know it will not be fast but this is my start out car for just getting into rc. Next yr i may get a 415 and go from there. Are any of you guys using ball diffs or just the diffs that came with the car. What about titanium screws? RCLUKE do you have any other suggestions for asphalt race tires?

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
The stock diffs would not be that good for racing cause there is no way to adjust how much they slip. I would be ok if you could fill them with diff fluid or something but they are not sealed so there is no way. Most drifters just stick to the stock diff's or at least I do cause once you lock them up solid the car drifts great. But a pair of ball diffs would help you alot on the track as they are completly adjustable with just the turn of a screw.

Thanks for the suggestion bones will probably buy front and rear ball diffs next month. Any suggestion on tires? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=003. These are what I am looking at but the guys at the track I just started at recommend team sorex 26 or 33 r's I just don't want to have to keep buying new rims since I already have 26mm rims .

Never raced and the only time I ran rubber tires on my TT-01 was for about 30 seconds on it's virgin run So I really don't know what to tell you as far as racing tires.

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
don't worry luke!!!
yo d what's a 415? i got the titanium srews on my yok and got the stock one's on my tt-01!!!
bonez you said that you locked up the diff on your tt-01?
does that change the way the car's handling?
i'm drifting with the stock diffs and it works perfectly.
