What happened again? Did you use the wrong paint?

when i finished to paint. I realized the spray can is for plastic... it's too late already

still a good result, but i'm scared about the paint crack of any impact.

any idea about chrome paint? I know it's wrong section.

Why is "Plastic" paint a bad thing?

I used paint once that was made for "plastic" and sprayed my car with it. Just to watch it flake off later when it the curb. I was pissed because it really looked good. It was a Yokomo Silvia body. Lasted about 20 minutes.

I got 2 questions. Hopefully someone can answer them.

Does the toe ins actually help in handling or is it just a replacement for plastic?

Does the ball differential makea big difference if you get an aftermarket one?

I wanna get this right before I purchase them.

Toe ins, or turnbuckles, really do help in handling if you have toe out. The Ball Diffs make a huge difference, but why get one after market if Tamiya makes one?

Does the TT-01 have to come with toe outs or can I purchase them?

If so, where can I get them?

And will all HPIs 190mm bodies fit TT-01? I found a nice skyline r34 from HPI but I dont know if it be good for the chassis. I also found a tamiya supra body that I want so bad that can go on every model BUT tt-01(Is there a was to fit it) or does anyone have a site to supra body that is guaranteed to fit the tt-01?

Check my gallery...my TT-01 has a Supra body. Its a 200mm body. So, i had to get some 6mm offset wheels to make it look good.

The TT01D+TT01R come with them pre-fitted. Otherwise they are available seperately and don't cost much.

HPI bodies fit TT01's but the older bodies are very poor quality. Thats why they are cheaper. You can get the Esso Ultron Supra from Tamiya which will definately fit.

The offset provides a wider stance...brings the tires farther out.

can someone please tell me about the gearing on there TT01.... If your running the 61t spur you should have the 19t pinion on also right? What pinions should you run if you have the 58t spur and the 55t spur?

Hey guys, got a question. I've sifted through allot of these pages but I haven't found a difnitive answer...

I've got a TT-01R with a LRP No Limit ESC and a Trinity 13x3 Speedgems. My current gearing is 20/61

My question is I'm looking for between 35-40 mph out of the car. It feels quick but I don't think it's that quick, maybe 30 or so. I can't really tell.

I know a 19/61 combo will give me slightly better acceleration and slightly less top end but what would happen if I went to say a 19/58 or 20/58?

I don't wanna fry the motor or Speed control. I'm gettin good battery time from the 20/61 setup, would a 19/61 kill the battery time or just decrease it a little. At the same time would the 19/61 decrease my top end by allot or a little.

Are these changes gradual or allot.

Sorry for the noob questions. I figured a 13x3 would have got me to 40 easy. Maybe I'm there but I just can't tell if I'm actually going that fast.

Most people tell me not to go below 13 turn motors on a TT-01 as the car is really not designed to go that fast.

Thanks in advance,

Vin C

Most people are correct in saying that; but we, as humans, strive to go faster than the last bloke.

Yes you wil notice the gradual changes in acceleration : top speed.

But here's my proposal...

If you fit the 55T spur you will notice a quite significant speed increase. But with a 13T motor you can afford to stump out on some acceleration benefits. So why not try a 28T pinion with that? It is the highest gearing available for the chassis, which is capable of exceeding 60mph. Thats with a 23T motor too.

I have the mamba max 7700 in mine and it's equal to a 3 turn motor and my TT01 is handling it fine. U just have to watch what gearing your setting it for. I found with the 19/61 set up that i got crazy acceleration and some good top end speed. But when i changed it out to the 55/25 I had some insane top speed but lost alot of run time and some acceleration. No matter what set up i've tired i had great top end and acceleration simply bacause of my brushless set up. There isn't too many options as far as gear ratio with the TT01 but for what it offers you'll see and feel a slight difference between them all.

From experience they make very little difference and what they do do is not justifyable for their high price. If you have to get some choose which ones you think'll look good!

I'm trying to use the gear FAQ to calculate my speed. I'm looking all over my kit to find the Transmission ratio but I can't seem to find it.

The only thing it says is "Gear Ratio 6.5-7.5"

Is that possibly right?

It's a TT-01
