You can always get the F103GT then you can run all the touring car shells if you want!
Oh yeah, Vyger, the new F103 is nice!! Will you be running it or just a shelf queen?!

WOW! That thing is too nice to drive! You'll scratch the nice logo off the bottom! Haha....
Seriously, would love to get an F103, but I fear there just aren't enough bodies/wheels tires out there for it?
Tamiya released a new chassis, now where are all the body kits and wheels/tires?
I don't know much about the F103's, but I have CRAPLOAD of F201's.
Cheers,
Skottoman

SWEET! I'm happy to hear all that got worked out. It's a great kit, easy to build and has a ton of options included. I think you'll really like it.

Yeah, can't wait, only problem is that I have a race new years eve and I have to run it then because my other car is all drift! I would change it back but my touring tires are missing. I also really want to order some more batteries for the race seeing as I only have 2 a 1500 and a 4600, but they wont come in on time! I am sort of annoyed at RCmart still but want to believe it was just a screw up. I also want to get some intelects from them but they wont come in time its a great deal, 2 4600 MaH batteries AND a free lighting kit for like 86 USD!!!! Well can't wait to build it I will post as many pictures as I can take, now what car should I paint it after?

I've also got the 15th Ann version. I picked it up last week. I've only opened the box to look at the goodies inside. Boy, it does look good.
I'll be building it during my end of year holidays.
Now, the only question is which body to run... does anyone have any recommendations?

Here is my chassis, I had to place the TRG diffuser on the bottom, it hits the gear if place in between. So far it has not caught anything yet, what do you think-should I leave it there?
Did the servo roads hop-up, much better, almost no slack VS original!
Were do you buy the radial F1 tires like the ones one your car?
Cheers!

I wondered that too, I could only find them for the F201 =( thanks for the link I might buy some when I get some more cash! My bodyw ill be black I guess, well I was thinking of black, but I have had a Mazda RX-8 hanging around that isn't painted yet, I decided to paint it flat black, so that would make for 2 black shells which I don't want, I ws thinking of painting it white but I am unsure!

get a bit creative with painting, and hit ebay for a sticker sheet from the older F1 shells
or, make your own stickers.
Hit ebay and get yourself some sticker paper, you design your stickers on your computer (using any programme - i use microsoft powerpoint), then print directly onto the paper using an inkjet printer.
PM me if you want a link to the paper

does it not make sense to keep the thread on topic? if your calling a Tamiya TA-03R/S TRF a toy car, i think your on the wrong forum!

Thanks rcluke
I will need lots of advice from all of you regarding decals:
How to cut, aling and paste.
This is the first time I attempt to cut, fit, paint and decal a lexan body, I was going to do Scott Dixon Indy-Light/Target, but Vyger suggested an easier project like a Ferrari.
So after lot’s of looking (and extra $) I think this shell can be turn into a F412-T2 (Driven in the 1995 GP by Berger/Allesi). Being Allesi, in car # 27 that won the first (and only) place podium for him and the car at the Montreal GP (see photo).
I started by placing yellow tape around the outlines, I think I can now cut and proceed to fitting the body, suggestions welcome.

RE: 1/10 RC Formula 1 Cars...lets see'em
right,
when cutting out, painting and decalling a body, ALWAYS take your time.
i am sure that almost everyone on here will have rushed a body and messed it up, i know i sure have !!
When cutting,
If possible, use a pair of curved lexan scissors. I always make lots of small snips to make sure i stay on the lines.
When you have finished cutting it out, a good tip is to use a small flat file and file along the freshly cut edges to smooth them off (this makes it look better and newly cut lexan gets sharp)
When painting,
Always use washing up liquid (or detergent) to wash your body, i use cold water and a sponge.
This removes all greasy fingerprints - so be careful when it's washed lol.
If you decide to mask up a design, be careful not to leave too many finger marks on the shell, as when the masking tape is down, you will not be able to wash the shell again.
Try to avoid painting in cold weather, but if you need to, sit the spray can in a pot of boiling water (make sure the full can is submerged to just below the nozzle, leave the can for a few mins then remove it and shake it (when you shake the can, you will feel the can get cooler again - this is the cool paint from in the middle of the can) repeat this process a few times and it should warm the paint thorougly.
IF you paint with cold paint, it will come out thick and blotchy.
REMEMBER - ALWAYS APPLY THE PAINT IN THIN LAYERS - and allow about 20 mins per layer to dry (it takes a long time, but it will be worth it in the end)
When decalling,
Most tamiya sticker sheets come with pre-cut stickers - this is fairly idiotproof - just peeloff.
If your sticker sheet needs cutting out use a sharp moddeling / craft knife (and needless to say - BE CAREFUL !!)
when applying stickers, stick a small edge down first and ensure they are gonna stick down straight.
I think thats about it, feel free to add onto it anyone else
^^
this must have been the longest post i have ever wrote on RCU lol
i hope someone finds it useful
