Hi yall,
Have any of you downloaded the REFLEX demo? I think it looks pretty real. Specially when the planes taxi on grass! Planes move erratically and spring in all directions just like the real thing. And if the plane hits the ground too hard during a touch and go, the landing gears bend realistically. I would like to hear from owners of this sim. How real are planes and helis flight models?

I can't believe nobody has seen this demo. The demo can be downloaded from Reflex's website: http://www.reflex-sim.de/ and has been around for more than a year now. Is there any problem with this sim?
I need to know if the planes in Real Flight G2 move on the ground like the ones in the Reflex sim. Also which flight model seems to be more realistic, G2's or Reflex's.
I can't buy both sims. so please, somebody help me....
Thanks.

Hey guys,
I have been a realflight user since it was released and have ALL the realflight products, but I gotta tell ya that I just downloaded the Reflex Simulator demo and the flight models are BLOWING ME AWAY! Realflight definitely has the eye candy graphics, but Reflex's flight models look so realistic that it looks like your are at the flying field! The other MAJOR advantage is that with a $30 add-on you can make your own planes! WOW! Anyone know if you can buy this in the US yet?

Actually yes I did hear from them. They said Email them my credit card # and they would send the program. I did that last week. So we'll see when it comes.

is it possible that this sim isn't sold in the us?
i've spent lots of cash getting the RealFlight plus addons over here just to sell it again. couldn't hold up to the Reflex.
dirtstripper:
had the same problem. i was running the radio with a psu attached instead of the batteries.
very dodgy.
later i found out that by removing the tx cristal, the radio
consumes close to no power. i fly for ages on one accu load.

I had this posted in the last thread. Maybe you guys can help..
"Well, I'd like to try some of this 3D stuff but my Stock add on planes aren't set up right.
I have the (Old)realflight sim with the Add-on that included the red and white Extra 330 3D plane, Harrier...etc..etc. The Extra has the power but that nose really wants to drop off one way or the other. Other planes include the Cap and the Edge 540.
I'll see if I can get some of those files open...the ones I downloaded at that site. Maybe I'll be able to get something out of them that will help...ie set ups, CG, control surface deflection etc.
I'm pretty sure about having the skill but I don't have the machine set up right. If what I currently have represents a 3D flyable plane...well, it'll end up in the ground about 80% of the time.
So, what makes those planes able to hang? I figure that if a guy can fly coordinated multipoint rolls at 10 feet off the ground he should be able to hang the plane on its prop in 3D. Where can I find some hints on how to get set up?
Thanks to anyone who can provide links...hints etc. "

John,
i think you talking about Torque-Rolls and hovering.
In Reflex there's a training set to learn that.
you have to take over one control after the other.
I mean first you start out with just the throttle and the rudder.
the rest is controlled by the computer. when you can manage
that, you take the elevators and or the rudder. and so on
real nice.
in any plane just shift the CG aft.
when i had the RealFlight G2 i also had a couple of planes
that torqued really easy. mainly the big ones.
i dont know about the old RealFlight.
you might wanna ask that in a realflight thread.

I'll hand it to the Deutcsch on this one. It's like them to get down to the 'nitty gritty' . It's too bad that Real Flight doesn't take all those little aspects of physics into account.
From what I hear G2 is obviously better than what I have but Reflex sounds better from the standpoint of life-like dynamics.
I'd love to see the third generation Real Flight include the same. Realistic crashes would be really cool. I'd like to see wings snap, pieces flying...midairs etc. They could even have an option to have your plane burst into flames as it slams into the ground.....if you need a little more excitement.
They should add a couple instructional routines for IMAC/FAI and have you fly against the computer for points. You know...like your own contest with a number of computer simulated guys to go up against. If it needs to be an add on, fine.
I WONDER IF THE G2 GURUS EVER LOOK AT WHAT WE'RE SAYING. MAYBE THERE SHOULD BE A FORUM SHOWING WHAT WE WANT IN SIMS. We could contact them and tell them to come and check out what people are saying.
Maybe I'm a day late and a dollar short :stupid:
Thanks for the info

I sent email to Reflex tech support asking them about a dealer in US, they told me to wait about five to six weeks till they do setup with a dealer in US. I have never seen the G2, but I have heard that G2 gives a better overall flight experience, can anyone comment on that. I am being torn appart here, one has better physics and the other has better flight, what is more usefull. With better physics I can better learn how the real model behaves. As I understand Aerofly Pro is similar to Reflex, is that true? Can anyone comment on all this?

I checked out the REFLEX Demo its a pretty slick piece of software. I am currently trying to contact them. They haven't returned my E-mail. The fact that they put a demo on there site says alot about the product in my eyes wish they all did that makes you wonder??JasonD let us know what happens.

From: Braunton,
I have flown most simulators now, until now I have always gone back to using CSM, having had each version since V6 about 7 years ago. The graphics weren't great but the aircraft and helis always "felt" like their counterparts and you could even feel the weight of the aircraft.
I bought a Reflex last week and can honestly say that it is FANTASTIC!!!!!. The graphics are great and you can feel the aircraft. The only thing lacking is the peripheral vision and the smell of castor.
I have been in email contact with Wolfgang in Germany. A very nice bloke, very helpful and very prompt. He deserves to do well!
I am not connected in any way with Reflex, Just very impressed with their product and service.
Regards
Robert
