hello,
I read from other post the pros and cons of using rudder versus aileron during landing. With this in mind, I want to be proficient on both. Can anybody tell me what sim is best in practicing landings. Which one is close to the real thing. I presently have FMS however, I want the crosswind effect to practice crabbing or other technique. I am leaning on Real flight G2 but can any body share their experiences on any sim.
Thanks .

I've had G2 for a couple weeks now. Also have FMS. I was pleased to be able to get the Realflight controller to work with FMS. Much nicer than a joystick!
Anyway, G2 is a couple orders of magnitude more real than FMS. You do get what you pay for. I've tried most of the planes and they land about like the real thing. You can control wind, gusts, direction, thermals etc. Once you get used to a 'Flying site' and know where the runway is, you can do touch and goes for hours. And you can slow it down to a crawl if you want.
Have already learned slow rolls, rolling circles and inverted flight with confidence.
I wish I'd had this five years ago.

Find the sim that is the hardest to land, and that is the best one.
If you can land it with ease, you can land anything.
Try the G2 with gusting 50mph winds. Hard to land but teaches you to have quick reflexes without over controlling!

in Realflight.. practice on the mustang. its a pain to get it on the ground without bouncing... in aerofly any of the jets will keep you on your toes.

That's right, Unstable. Especially with the flaps all the way down. If I had a real 1/5 Mustang I'd want to get a lot of practice in before I actually flew the thing.

Thank you for all your input. I do appreciate it. I decided to get the Real plane G2 lite. Does the mustang in G2 and G2 light have the same characteristics. I want to make sure before i get a hold of it
thanks
