How do these two compare?
I've seen the demo of reflex and while it may lack some of the graphics of afp, i've read that the flying qualities are supposed to be really good?
Does the interfaces make much difference ie 9 pin serial vs usb, I see the reflex site mentions the realistic flight qualities due in part to the quality of tx interface?
Ta.

If they (reflex) are depending upon the controller for realism I would forget reflex.
There is a new version due to be out soon for Reflex, it has totally realistic sceenery and aircraft images. Its flight charicteristics remain a question! Most people I no who have flow Aerofly would not part with the program. It appears to be that good in realistic flying qualities. This applies to 3d flying. . . I have realflight2 and it does not fly 3d right out of the box. It can be difficult to get to do 3d and have never seen a flat spin occur in realflight.

9pin serial against USB is getting interesting if we start talking about Windows 2000 or XP. The quality aspect is not in the interface but in the signal. Reflex depends on ppm signals as generated in your radio. Not any joystick, just ANY signal - a signal as it is generated by a device which is used to control YOUR real helicopter as well. If you need some opinions about the Reflex maybe you have a look over [link=http://runryder.com/helicopter/f21p1/]here[/link]. It's a little more than people just guessing about something they never had in hands. wolfgang
