Default Torque Rolls in G2 realistic?

I have no problem with torque rolls on G2 with planes like the Extra 330L, Sukhoi, Giles, Cap, Dr. Fokker ect. Will I be able to torque my 25% Giles like I can in the sim? I know it won't be exactly the same, but will it be close? Thanx.

Learning to torq roll in a sim is a great start

You are learning how to control a plane in an upright posistion and this definately applies to the real thing.

However:

You GP giles will be a handful to get it in this posistion, because it is not stable in a harrier or elevator.........from what I have read.

IMO larger planes ( like my 33% cap and 35% extra ) are easier to TR than RF.

On the other hand planes like my funtana are much quicker.

Take your time with your Giles and enter high, I would recommend working in the ENTRY to your giles, if you can get it to come in soft and slow you should have no problems!

Good Luck

Not all the giles, the Wild Hare 35% is a nice plane

All tho the giles has less wing area ratio to the size of the fuse.

I have heard good things about the Creek hobbies planes.

How much does it weigh? How much wing area?

If you can figure out the wing load this will help you know before you fly,

You may also want to do a search here on RCU and see if anyine is doing 3D with this plane

It sould come out at 10.5lbs or less. As for the wing loading, it's 24ounces per square foot ot less.

I have flown the giles in G2 and have owned the real one with Saito 180 in it and can tell you they don't fly exatly the same. My giles 1/4 giles flew great, much better than the G2 version. To me entering to a hover/TQR was easier with the real one. The sim version just didn't fly right to me. Good luck and like the other guy said start off a few mistakes high to find out.

I agree

Realflight is not made for 3D pilots, however there is a sim out there for us. Aerofly Pro 3D....just awesome...I have both and rarely use my RFG2 now.

If your giles comes in at 10.5 lbs you should have no problems. Looking at the Creek hobbies Giles I do not think it is Scale, which is a good thing, a 1/4 scale giles kept to true scale would be a handful ie: Great planes.

You can modify the airplanes on G2 to make the torque roll very realistically.

I have found a plane on G2. Stock no modifications what so ever that TR's really well. The Edge 540, all I did was increase the throws and add expo into the radio set up. Its a little tricky getting into position you have to really coax it in but once its verticle I can hold it for a while. I dont know if thats realistic or not if its easier than real life or harder because I just started to get interested in 3D the end of this past season. I have been flying the hell out of RF and hope that I aquired enough experience in the aspects of 3D to get a start on it. As for the modified planes that you can download I can hover those for hours on end, which makes me think that they are not to realistic. If I find that the edge is alot harder than it should be than i will just look at it as real good practice. Figure if I can hover that, the real thing should be fairly easy. If anyone has any info on the actual performance of Real Flight compared to a real plane that would be cool. Its nice to hear from someone who can 3D say, "yea RF download planes 3D just like they do for real or no they dont at all".
