Man you got a one track mind. It was an offer to PM/Email YOU the AFPD guy the info. I thought the fact that a fully working "sim" is currently available for download (no dongle required) may interest you. I have no interest in distributing anybodys software. If I wanted anybody to get your sim for free I could've simply posted a link BUT I DIDNT! This thread is about purchasing illegal copies of sims on ebay afterall.

ORIGINAL: STLPilot

I'm not trying to pin anything on you and I know there are people out that that have tried to and have successfully cracked all 3 programs, but as long as people don't publish this information or pass it along in PM's, emails, websites, newsgroups etc. then it doesn't go any further then the person who originally commited the initial crime.

I see you deleted your comment about PMing you for the information. I guess you did understand my last post better then you though you really did.

You've known all along exactly what I am talking about. The fact that you've been trying to "persuade" me to do something that is illegal has been real entertaining on my end I'll be sure not to mention another word (in here) about this again[:@]

I'm lost... you said there is software out there that allows you to use the sim without a Dongle...

Re-read his posts and you will also see that he said that he will "prosocute me to the full extent of the law" if I do

Yeah but he said "It is illegal under the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) to circumvent anti-piracy measures built into commercial software or any media device. Outlaws the manufacture, sale, or distribution of code-cracking devices used to illegally copy encrypted media. To broadcast these circumvention techniques, technologies or devices in any public domain, either written, spoken, videotaped or any other media broadcast."

So I guess he would go after me if I got into any specifics.

I can tell you that it doesn't require any soldering or "devices" to accomplish, which is why I stated in the beginning that he was wrong to say that "They all need the original cables to run, there is no way around it".

Let me re-state I am not the one who cracked the codes or made anything available -that person (or persons) is the one STL should be going after!

This is ridiculous. If you have an information and you want to get rid of it, just send an email to STL or send an email to [email protected] so that someone can handle the information. All the rest is rubbish and amateur legal misinterpretation. I don't know the right phrase in english but here in Switzerland we have a few words for the "Hey Mr. teacher, I know the bad boys but I won't tell you ... (make me important, right?)" ....

Excuse me Kurt, but did you happen to read this?

ORIGINAL: STLPilot

[email protected] if you like and I will be happy to explain to you what I know about this.
Unless you tell me that G3 or AFPD or XTR will work without the original encrypted cables attached then there is nothing to discuss. The programs that activate the software are protected under the DMCA for all 3 software packages. If you know something that does not circumvent the DMCA and still makes it possible to enjoy these 3 programs without the use of their original Interface cables please share it with all of us. Because just passing information via PM's on circumvention of the DMCA is ILLEGAL.

One more time, software that utilizes encryption mechanisms to be used as protection for illegal use or copying are protected under the DMCA. This is different then basic software that you can find a crack for from a Warez site. This law was written to protect the companies that took the extra step to protect themselves and spent more money doing it by utilizing encryption mechanisms.

There is nothing to hide here Rick. If you know something ... then share it, why PM it?
I did post my email addy and offered to share what I know privately. He is not interested in that, he wants ME to break the law and post the info in a public forum instead -I am not willing to do that. Anyway it doesn't matter anymore because STL confirmed what I said here

OK Rick now it's perfectly clear, you were talking about cracked versions of one or all of the big 3 RC software. It took me a while to fully understand your meaning. But now it's crystal clear.

But as long as people do not distribute information regarding to the whereabouts of pirated software then we have nothing to worry about now do we.

As for broadcasting this information using any technologies built into RCU, like PM's, email button, I can assure you that the owners of this website would not like that very much seeing that this entire website is all hand coded and took thousands of man hours to produce. Unless of course you have a cracked version of RCU I could use a copy for a new project I'm working on. Hook a brother up?

It's like the old saying Rick ... If a tree falls in the woods ... I think you know the rest.
