STL Pilot (John),
Since you are the distributor for AFP and AFPD that you should be the central site for Airplanes and Heli's for the products that you sell. I have tried to run most of the planes that are ion the various sites and some work and some don't. I have AFPD and am happy with the simulator, however the selection of planes are limited. Some of the neat planes are on various sites, however they need work to run on AFPD and some are lacking the correct information.
This is just a suggestion, however it would be a big help in promoting your product. I would even be willing to pay a yearly charge for planes that work correctly.

OK. I'm a little confused here. Which planes work and which don't?
Also these planes are lacking information yes. They are lacking the direct CAD's of the actual models. Nobody like Sig, Great Planes, Aeroworks is going to hand over these designs to just anyone. Even though they should, it's to their benefit.
Alot of these models are developed by amatuers. Although some are designed by the same guys that design them for the sim. Lacking in correct information? Maybe right. The physics engine run off the parameters of the plane. If the design of the plane comes right from the actual model, like the OMP planes do, the physics are gong to be almost 100% accurate. If they are handmade, 3 views, then they are going to need some work.
I've downloaded almost all of these planes now. Some, almost most are amazing. These guys build these planes for us for FREE. They devote their time and effort.
AeroFlyPro and now Deluxe comes with more planes then any other sim on the market in the box and for free dowload. I don't see how you can say that the selection is limited?
Please Marc I'm just asking, as I somewhat confused in your comment.

I have downloaded dozens of planes for AFP
. Most worked with a G-2 controller however all worked with a 7 channel Futaba. Many times you need to go into the advanced radio setup page for certain planes[sm=idea.gif]. Many simply don't taxi fast enough because the brakes are on[X(]. No one said a pilots life is easy. It takes some fooling around however they all work

ok that may be the case.
BUT the fact of the matter is I know that SOME PLANES SIMPLY do NOT work on AFPD which worked fine in AFP!
I know this because I have seen them my self. the interface version of the afp vs. interface version of AFPD their are problems with backward comptability. ITs not the radio because my radio is the same on both sims.

You are correct, but it's far from 98% more like 2%, it's only a couple developers who used a different conversion method to get their planes to work from CAD to AFP. They did this to protect them from being used in other programs and from changing the skins.
But guess what, these guys are getting their planes converted for AFPD right now. Rodeo has some of them done already.
