Default pro's and con's of AFPD USB version?

should i save the 40 bucks or go with the afpd with the controller, is it hard to set up with my own controller,? i have a JR xf631 computer radio?....thanks

Hard to setup with own radio? Not at all. All you do is assign the stick and switches 1 time and your done. Even if you get the Commander you have to do the same thing.

If you have your own radio you don't need the Commander.

Now the USB version uses your radio's battery but on JR it lasts really long time. I use 662 as my primary AFP radio and get at least 20 hours on a charge. Last much longer then the field because once you plug in the DSC, you turn off the RF.

Some people still want the Commander though just to have it.
