I am wanting to get an Aerofly Pro Simulator. The reason why I don't want the deluxe is because there aren't as many downloads that you can get for it as there is for the Pro version. Or is there just about the same amount of downloads? If there are I will probably get the Pro Deluxe because it looks alittle better. Anyway, I am wanting to know how realistic either one is. Does the aircraft handle the same way on the sim as they do is real life? Do they all sound and look realistic? Can you tell when you are behind the flight line or not?
I can use my own transmitter on it, right? I want the full fell of how one flies. That means I want my own transmitter and all. Just like I was out at the field flying my own planes.

I have AFP and it is awsome. But I do want to get Deluxe. If I were you I would get Deluxe. It has better phics and looks. Well I'm positive it has better looks because I can see how the pics are, but I can't tell how the phics are for Deluxe, but I hear they are even better than AFP! I think Dion even said that every AFP model can be an AFPD model too. All in all, AFP is sweeeet and I'm sure AFPD would be even better, so my final opinion is to get Aerofly Professional Deluxe.

Oh ya, you should be able to use your transmitter too, I can on AFP, you can too on AFPD of course.

Order AFPD.. you will not be disappointed. All the AFP planes work and the physics are better. This is a great sim. AFP also is good, but the step up is noticeable.
You can have full confidence in this software that you will be getting an excellent package that will improve your skills, not just teach you how to fly a trainer.
If you are thinking about G3... dont!! G3 is riddled with bugs.
Reflex XTR is also a good package, but more slanted toward Helis, so AFPD is the best out there IMO. I have tried them all, I OWN AFPD.

The scenery downloads for AFP can also be made to work in AFP deluxe. You just have to edit a text file if it has not been updated for deluxe yet. I'm not positive about the photo scenery, but I think that can be made to work as well. Check in the Ikarus AeroFly Support Forum for a FAQ about it.

So most of the planes that can be downloaded for AFP will work with AFPD, right?

By properly I mean:
THey had a preview pic, accurate physics, plane showed the texture and it flew.
38 of them had messed up textures i.e. constant flickering, no preview pic, SOME DIDN"T NOT EVEN FLY THEY JUST HUGGED THE GROUND, others didn't even show up in the plane menu.
Ofcrouse OMP reps or fanboys will say I'm wrong, butwhatever, I sold my AFPD so I don't care.
It is up to you, probably people will update some planes... but don't expect to all the afp planes work on AFPD.

There are always examples of failure or issues with just about every piece of software... Sorry to hear you had issues with AFP / AFPD. I have owned and tried all of them. AFPD and XTR are very comparable. I like AFPD support better and there are more downloads available.
You can't go wrong with either.

I've been using AFP Deluxe for a couple of weeks now and I LOVE IT!!!!
I tried a friends G3 and it was like night and day, G3 felt like a game AFPD is truly a flight simulator.
Get the AFP Deluxe you will love it too !!!
When I fly AFPD it really feels like I've learned something, it is totally realistic.
It is an awesome program.
I wish they would give owners of the software a good tutorial on creating photo sceneries though.

the best and fastest way to add planes is to download them and break them into 3 files -Aircraft ,sound and sceneryand an extra folder for skins. Then move the whole folder into the afpd directory.I added 40 models in just a few minutes. They all work.
