hello
I have real flight g2 , which runs great on windows 98 ,
but does not run on my other computer , windows xp,
does anyone have the same problem ??????

G2 runs flawlessly on my computer that is running Windows XP. You'll need to supply more information about your system. What version of G2, what video card, how much memory, etc. before we can be much help.

Have you contacted either Great Planes or Knife Edge? They have always been helpful when I have called.

Do you get a blank/blue screen but, you get sound?
There is a patch for this problem at the realflight website.

I had to download it for this problem.

You need to post more information about the problems your having. I expirenced problems also with XP but I figured it all out. Let us know what yours is doing.

I plugged my G2 in and it was perfect With XP
The only thing tho. Is that I needed to get a new
VIDEO CARD.. went with the cheaper G-force2
and its GREAT!
But as far as It not working with XP? Nope not a problem!

Rule 1 of computing:

If it ain't BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.

Rule 2 of computing:

Refer to rule 1 when considering Windows version upgrades.

While you all struggle with driver updates, incompatibility issues, patches, and forced hardware upgrades, I merrily fly along in G2, smooth as silk.

2 words: Windows 98.

Running Win XP requires more from a PC, and an understanding that not all hardware has drivers for it. This issue happens with every upgrade. There is nothing wrong with XP. I think it is the best that Microsoft has done yet.

However, Linux is the best

I have to humbly disagree that XP is MickeySoft's best yet...it's just their latest. Only if you are suckered into believing Microsoft's marketing hype, is it the best. They have been saying that about every new OS release since MSDOS 6.0... if "the best" means going from a working system to a broken one, I'll take a pass.

Make sure you have the most current update for G2. Go thru the G2 control panel and update to Latest version. I had same problem b4 I updated G2.

I'm running XP on a 2 year old Acer laptop and have had no problem after I downloaded all of the upgrades of G2.

One question, when it starts up, do you get sound and a blank screen? If so, turn off the fog. I know many have had that issue....
