Default Reflex XTR Hovering

Alright, bought XTR for the heli's, it's amazing. Spending a lot of time with the planes now. I can do pretty much every trick in the book, with one exception, HOVERING. I cant begin to explain how many hours i've put into trying. i've tried the torque training, doesn't help me much. i've tried doing it with almost every plane on there. My planes are trimmed right. And i just a three year old Hovering like it was nothing on AFPD Pro. I cant find any reason why i am not able to do this one thing. It is really ticking me off. Can anyone else hover with Reflex XTR? if so can you please post a video, or at least offer some helpful tips. Thanks.

The plane will fall out of hover after about 2-3 secends, it's never the same way twice either, sometimes forward, sometimes to the sides. I've been flying sims and real planes for a little while now, but i guess i'm not understanding the concept of hovering. Someone told me to predict and react to what a plane is going to do before it does it????? But i'll continue to practice, just looking for tips.

I did it today!!!! Finally, I can now claim i can hover or torque roll. I had a few of them that were 30 secends and longer that i flew out of on my own. Not sure if anyone else cares but it was defenitnly a rush and confidence booster even if it is only a sim. The two biggest things that helped me were: 1.) the time expansion factor on Reflex, and 2.) keeping the cockpit, or top of plane facing you no matter what!! ( not allowing one wing to get closer to you than the other, with the ailerons.)

The time expansion factor allows you to slow the sim down, basically giving you more reaction time to think about what you need to do. A Time expansion factor of 2 was great for me because it gave me twice the time to react to what the plane was doing, which was exactly what i needed to learn. You can set the time expansion factor at whatever you want to allow more time, the higher the number, the slower the sim will run, and more time to react. With one being normal speed obviously.

When i first started to learn how to hover heli's, the hardest thing i had to learn was to keep the tail pointed in my direction at all times, no matter what. After i was able to do that the rest came very very easily. learning to hover an airplane is almost identical in the thought process of learning to hover a heli. Once you can keep the cockpit area (or top of the plane) facing you at all time, the rest comes almost automatic. Like i said this is done with the ailerons.

It was a blast, now on to harrier rolls.

One more thing i forgot to mention. I concentrate only on the cockpit area of the aircraft when hovering. Don't look anywhere else!! Also, just concentrate on keeping that cockpit area facing you with the aileron inputs!! Rudder and elevator inputs will come secend nature in short time.
