Im looking for an accurate sim with emphasis on 3d flying. Not intrested in bells and whistles or video games, just good flying practice. Who's the best?

I have both and AFPD is my pick. I feel it is much easier to use more refined. (Read the thread on all the problems with FS1)
And more realistic. You also have tons of free downloads provided on the web.

I would think it unlikely that anyone would be able to give an unbiased opinion, unless like redwings, they own multiple simulators and can go back and forth between them to compair. I have G3 and have no interest in spending another $400.00+ for other simulators to compair. I have minutes on FSone. However, I fly Mode 1, so I don't think flying FSOne in Mode 2 for a couple minutes would be a fair apprasial of FSOne. I can tell you I am happy with my G3 (which was recently upgraded to G3.5 for free).

I have AFPD and g3.5, I would say AFPD right now, since the developers did something to g3.5 physics are all weird now. But both are great for all out 3D performance!

My opinion is somewhat biased because I only own FS One. A friend did loan me his AFP Deluxe and I spent several hours on it. Between the two I definately like FS One better. Planes seem to fly more realistic to me on FS One. To me the planes on AFPD seem to floaty. Any of the sims I believe will help you to actually fly RC better. I can tell I am better after practicing with FS One.

I own Realflight, AFPD, Reflex and just got FSOne in two days ago... I have to say that AFPD is winning hands down for 3D experience and my kids love the FSOne and Realflight. Nobody in my family, (I have 3 boys and a girl ranging 8-15 and the two oldest are solo'd) likes Reflex, including myself. It's headed for e-bay. I spend alot of money on sims and still like AFPD the best..just my 2cents.
