Anybody on this forum use Dave Browns sim besides me. All I see are G2 items. I use RCFS2001 every day and think its great. Is G2 that much better??? I have FMS buts its more like a game than a good RC flight Sim. I still cannot hover with the Helo's yet, but had a good flier tried the helo,s and he thought they were very close to his real one.

I have been had every version of DB RCFS since version 4.0. I use it occasionally but don't have a lot of time for it. I have also used FMS using the same controller. I also have RealFlight G2 but I gave up on it because of the difficulties in getting it to work right on my system. I fight with software packages too much at work to spend a lot of time getting one to work right at home. Both FMS and DB RCFS 2001 and worked without any problems.

I use DB 2001 flight simulator every day. In my opinion very accurate and does the job. I have never used real flight though. DB taught me how to fly helicopters.

I was using the DB version for Dos and Win 3.1 back in the 90's. I've been using G2 since Christmas. I can't imagine anything being more realistic than G2--especially with the graphics turned up full.
My only dissappointment with G2 was with the stingy selection of models and that's not really a dissappointment--I just wish there had been more.

Hi guys...
I didn't even know it was called Dave Brown RC flight sim.... I thought it was RCFS
...I still have my old 1990's version that I learned on. ...and I can thank it for training me enough to have flown hundreds of hours without a Major crash...except for that tree I crashed into... and that 50 foot light pole at the football field (the very top) ... or that famous "watch me buzz the fence" the "ooops" episode.
...but seriously it was fun... is the "newer" one worth getting?

I have both the Dave Brown and G2. I bought the Dave Brown RCFS 2001 and played with that for a while. I then used G2 at a friend's house while visiting. I bought G2 the next day and I don't use RCFS anymore. G2 is much more accurate and will fly 3D much better than RCFS. To me there is no comparison and the extra $$$$ to get G2 is worth it, as long as you have a computer that will run it.
The aircraft assortment may be stingy, but there are various place where you can download different aircraft setups or paint schemes. Also you can modify them and save them under another name. I have over 100 aircraft right now.
My $.03, yes inflation.

I already gave it to my little brother. He doesn't have a computer that will run G2 and wanted a flight sim. He likes it, but when he comes over the first thing he does is fires up G2.

ASAT - I have a DB Sim 2001 which I no longer use as I have retired from active flying. It is in mint condition with less than 5 hours use. Let me know if you are interested. Sirantony
