Hi All
My current graphics card GeForce 6600GS almost grinds to a halt if I turn smoke on. I am looking to upgrade this card and the GeForce 7600GT fits within my tight budget. If anyone is using this card I would love to hear about how Aerofly Pro Delux performs.
Many thanks
Busta

Hi Busta,
I'm running FS One on a 7300GT and it works great. I saw in the FS One thread a while back where somebody used the 7600GT and said it was awesome.
have fun,
Dave

How is the rest of your system? RAM, Processor, etc? I dont remember if I have the 7600 or the 7800 but I run G3 and can almost max out the settings. But I also have a good system backing it up. I havent had any experience with aerofly but I figured G3 was the bigger hog when it came to running graphics (at least thats what I hear by all the cmplaints). I know smoke is demanding on the processor because all the calculations that have to be done to simulate all the particle movements. The 7600 is a good card and sould run well but if smoke is still a problem it may be other factors in the system. Im just speculating, you could have a kickin machine that just needs a video update and if thats the case then you wont have a problem with the 7600.

Hi tl & busta,
Fair comment, I'm running a P4, 3GHz, 1.5MB RAM...about 3 yrs old so probably mid pack.
I don't know what the guy was running with the 7600GT.
Based on the big FS One thread, a lot of performance issues were resolved by making sure you have the very latest downloaded sound card, video and graphics drivers. Some needed to get the latest bios too for their computer. You might try these first because they're free.
cheers,
Dave

I use the 7600 GT KO (overclock) from EVGA. It has 256MB GDDR 3 video memory install in a PCI-E slot. I have an E-Machine (T6520). I upgraded to 2GB of RAM and the Power Supply. The power supply was the most important part. You are going to need a good one, if you do not have it. Some cards require power to be apply directly to them, so make sure that you get the right combination. Also the motherboard slot and video memory speed are a factor. Make sure you use the best posible combination, with your PC.
I use G3 with all the options, including smoke and have no problems at all. It is not the most advance graphics card on the market today, but it gets the job done, with a small budget.
Hope this helps...

The 7300 is a fair card. The only issue I had with running G3 was that I couldn't run my LCD in digital. I had to switch to analog, and set the refresh rate to 60 Hz or else I'd get an "Out of Range" message. But that had nothing to do with the card.

Running the 7800 GT here. I know,,, last of the AGP holdouts. But for a factory overclocked card it gets the job done with my Reflex, Farcry, IL-2FB/PF , MSFS-X,,,,etc, etc
2gb ram
AMD 64bit3000+
Duel hard-drives=Raid-0
I build and repair PCs for a living specializing in affordable custom gaming and flight sim machines like the one below I did for a J3Cub pilot here in RCU.
I guess I need to upgrade for myself soon with the new sims coming . LOL
If I can ever help any of you with a build or problem please let me know.

Heh, I'm hanging in there with a socket 478/AGP system. Have an x1950 and an overclocked P4 at 4ghz, no way I could ever afford a new computer with how much they cost.

Sorry, havn't checked this thread for a while - many thanks for all replies. I went for the Gigabyte Silent Pipe (no noisy fan) GT7600 card and am well impressed. I'm running at 1280 res and having smoke on no longer brings the frame rate down to an un-usable level (except hovering a helicopter up to the point of smoke saturation but I can live with that)
