Problem with add on 4 and xp.Installed RFG2 and it ran fine. Installed addon 1,2,3,4,online update, and all work ecept add on 4. It asks me to put in add on 4 CD when I try to run G2 and when I do it just reads the CD for a while and never starts. I can hit the cancel on the window that says to insert add on 4 cd and G2 will run with no #4. Serched this site, found a post that said to rename the file rf.ini, cannot find this file in any of the RF program folders.Rename it to what? RF site says edit fileread.INI,edit how?have a FILEREAD but not a FILEREAD.INI Had #4working on same computer before now no luck. Thanks Roy

I have G2 & Add-ons 1 & 4 on XP.
The fileread.ini file is in C:\program files\realflight
If you only see fileread and not fileread.ini it may be because you need to change your view options on your computer.
Open up my computer, click on the 'Tools' menu. Select 'Folder Options' click on the 'View' tab and uncheck the box labeled:
Hide extensions for known file types. Then click OK
That should show you the .ini extension. You can view/edit it with notepad or wordpad.

Roy,
Dd you ever find a solution to the add-on 4 installation problem? I just got my copy of add-on 4 and I'm having the same problem that you described. After running install, I get a message saying to install add-on 4 in Drive G (CD ROM drive). When I do, the CD ROM drive just keeps cycling off and on forever with the same message diplayed. Same as you described, I can cancel the message and run RF but the new Add-on planes are not there.
I don't think this problem is OS version related because I'm running Windows 98SE. Roy, or anyone else out there, is there a solution to this problem?

I tried everything and finally got in touch with support on the phone. They had to give me a code to allow it to run. I purchased the software and then have to get a code from them to run it !
At least they could put this in the instructions!
good luck
