I just picked this up from a friend, it is the earlier version 2.00.214. I have installed it and when I try to run it, I get a "realflight has caused an error in ddraw.dll". I have sound from the sim but no graphics and realfight has to close. I tried to register this on realflights site today so I could download the latest version but was rejected because it is already registered under the other users name. I have the latest drivers for my video card. Anyone ever had the ddraw.dll error or know how aI can fix this? My Realflight deluxe works with no problems. Thanks!

I CAN RELEATE TO YOUR PROBLEM I HAVE THE REALFLIGHT ORIGINAL WITH REALFLIGHT UPGRADE TO G2,RUNNING ON WINDOWS98.
LAST WEEK I TRIED UPDATING TO A CURRENT VERSION AND GOT A FATAL ERROR.LATER I CHECKED WITH GP TECH. PEOPLE AND FOUND THE REASON WHY IT WAS CAUSEING A FATAL ERROR WAS BECAUSE CHANGES THEY DID TO THE CONTROL PANNEL.I TRIED REINSTALING NUMERIOUSE TIMES AND THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE.I ENDED UP HAVING TO SEND IN BOTH MY RF & G2 CD'S FOR THE MOST CURRENT VERSION OF G2.
ANYWAY IT GOT TO THE POINT THAT WHEN I WENT TO RUN G2 I COULD ONLY RUN MY RF AND WHEN TRYING TO INSTALL G2 IT WOULDNT INSTALL AND I WOULD GET A FATAL ERROR.NOW IM WITH OUT MY G2 AND AM WAITING TO GET THE NEW VERSION SENT TO ME FREE OF CHARGE.CHECK OUT MY POST IN THE SIM SECTION. ANY QUESTION ASK FOR "LAURA" THE GP TECH. THIS IS WHO I DELT WITH AT GP FOR OVER 4 HOURS ON THE PHONE.

I am frustrated right now! I have down loaded thanks to some other input from another user, thanks Boris, not your fault, but it did not work. I was offered this at a good price if it works, but now it's not looking to good. Nedyob, I know you have had to send in your original rf with the G2 to get the upgrade sent to you. I do not want to do that. I have a kid waiting to get my deluxe so he can learn how to fly. I will not send it to GP just to get an upgrade for myself. I am always trying to get kids involved in this hobby of ours and this is his only means of being able to afford it. I will talk to someone Monday, but if that's the deal with getting an upgrade then I guess I will have to look at other options. This boy knows that he is supposed to be getting the deluxe, but I don't want to be without and I don't want to let him down, 10 years old and pretty pumped about this. RF should have explained that this was a problem with ME. I hope this all works out. Just a little ticked right now!

Read in G2 forums on www.knifeedge.com site. Your situation looks like a case of video driver conflict. What video card do you have? Many GeForce cards have similar problems with older driver. Try downloading the latest drivers as well as the latest DirectX. Screw around with "fog tables" settings in video card driver and in G2.
Don't lose hope too soon.

Getting closer, I have changed my angry face to just a frown. The video problem is worked out I hope, have a new video card and the latest directx. I can get into the sim now but have no controller, it will not calibrate and shows up as "not connected" in the windows control panel. I have posted on the RF site and hopefully I will get this thing going. Man, I really wnat to test the turbine but it just spins in circles on the ground.

YOU BEST BET WOULD BE TO CALL GP DIRECTLY AND HAVE THEM RUN THOUGHT THE SET UP WITH YOU.GLAD TO HEAR YOU ARE AT LEAST RUNNING.IM STILL WAITING FOR MY G2 DISC TO ARRIVE.I HOPE WHEN THE NEW INERLINK COMES OUT THERE WONT BE A HASTLE TO INSTALL OR RUN.

CHOOK, GLADE TO HEAR EVERYTHING WORKED OUT OKAY FOR YOU.WHEN I GET MINE UP AGAIN HOPEFULLY I WILL BE ABLE TO HOST ANOTHER FUN FLY AND WE CAN ALL JOIN IN THE FUN. IM STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM GP IF THERE GOING TO SEND ME THE MOST UP DATED VERSION G2. I GUESS UPS IS STILL TRANSPORTING MY OLD DISC TO GREATPLANES

FYI... Most problems with just about any piece of software are caused by either old device drivers, or confilcts with other software.
