Has anybody copied any or all the CD's to the hard drive to speed boot up time? I'm running G2 with Addons 1 and 2, and it also requries the RF Deluxe CD...
are there any tips/tricks in doing this? might I have to reinstall since it looks at the CD drive for the files, or it might be in some config file?
Thanks much in advance,
Scott

Scott,
You can't run without the CDs. You MUST have the disk in place for the software to run. Howeve,r the most recent update of G2 does a lot to help minimize the 'disk swapping'.

I have a program called Virtual CD that will allow you to run a program dependant upon the CD to run from the hard drive. I still have the lowly R/C Pilot which is CD dependant and it loads much quicker than running from the CD. Be aware that you must have a large amount of memory. I also am running Simon and Schuster Dictionary and Thesaurus and Microsoft Golf 99. It can be done but it's not for the inexperienced computer user.
