One more thing Michael, since it is now a Hanger 9 model, can I lobby for an 89" Carden Edition Yak 54 in a future FS One Update? ;) Regards.

Did anyone else see MSelig (Micheal Selig) and FSOneDev (Brian) on Unsolved History (Military Channel) last night and today? They were introduced as commercial grade flight simulator developers. I see they have a modeled Sopwith Camel Biplane and the Fokker Triplane (Red Barron - Von Richtoven sp?) as they were testing to see if the historical account of Capt. Brown shooting down the Red Baron was factual. I think they were using a generic form of FSOne as you could see what looked like the TacCon controller in the background, but the show shows a standard joystick.

Even better the Camel had historically correct double Vickers guns and the program could detect hits on the tri-plane. This begs the question "what is next guys"?

At least we know there are a few planes that MSelig and Brian have been holding back and guns too. Good work Micheal and Brian![sm=49_49.gif]

I see that they are repeating that program on Friday so I setup my DVR to record it.

About simulated aerial combat, I remember a member of our model airplane club giving a presentation 10 years ago about a group that would get together on the internet and recreate air battles using WW2 vintage aircraft. I don't remember what simulation software they were using. It sounded very realistic and interesting, if you are into that sort of thing. I actually gave up a stint at internet gamming in order to get back into the R/C model aircraft hobby. Virtual reality is a great escape, but you must mix in a bit of the real world occasionally.

I used to log onto Microsofts combat flight simulator. That was a couple years ago though ,pretty fun but very time consuming.
Think it was CFS2 Had all the ww2 stuff. I liked the ME109

I emailed Hanger 9 with my question, but no reply....

Does FS One allow you to set up in-flight failures? I'm mainly interested in simulated servo failures.

Thanks.

I just checked w/ Horizon Product Support. They answer *all* emails, but if you sent it over the weekend, there's going to be a lag in the reply. Also, sometimes spam filters on the side of the original sender can sometimes kick out/back replies from Horizon.

We don't have a built in way to handle servo failures, but in one of the recent magazines someone outlined how to do it w/ some key mappings and the transmitter editor. I don't recall which issue that is .... I will try to dig it out.

That would be this magazine?

http://rc-sf.com/index.html

Do you know which month? That would be helpful as the preview mode they have isn't clear enough to see the contents of the magazine.

Thanks!

Any chance that someone could scan or take a photo of that article for me?

I was prepared to pay the $7.00 for the magazine, but they also wanted $5 for shippinga little more than I was wanting to pay for one article.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Just got my latest of the Horizon catalog. Does anyone know why they dropped the price on FS One?

Thanks,

It's IC but can easily be changed to electric power if you want to.

Regarding Time Pilot's request for this article. I'm interested too, but to be honest, I glanced over the magazine and it seems like there's a lot of coverage there for airplanes, which I'm not very interested in. Can this FSOne mod regarding failures be posted in the inertiasoft's FAQ?
Thanks

I hope to pick up a copy of FSOne today... I'm wondering if my PC is up to it. the PC is a 2.13GHz Dell 6400 with 2GB RAM running XP SP2... Video card is a NVidea GeForce 7900GS (not sure how much RAM, think it's 256 MB) and a Dell WFP Digital Monitor.

Does anyone have a similar setup? I'm wondering how well FSOne will perform on this system, or if I will have to limit it?

Thanks,

Bob

Looks good to me. When you run FSOne for the first time, it may not run correctly, if that's the case, you will need to update the drivers for your video card and sound card/motherboard. Hopefully you know how to do this.

Also a good resource for you will be the www.inertiasoft.com's FAQ page found here: http://www.inertiasoft.com/fsonefaq/index.html

Good luck and write often, let us know how it's working for you.

For those that are interested in that article, I called Kiona Publishing, and for $1, they will email you the article.

For those interested, the 'bottom line' is either:
- create a hot key that sets up the failure you'd like to experience (you need to press the key)
- create a script that will randomly create the desired failure after a certain amount of time. The programs you need and script is given in the article.

Some are not good at doing searches. You sorta need the right mindset to do searches right. Perhaps you could show what it takes to find something like that in a very short time. I'm betting it was your choice of search words??? If you share how you did it, it might help others next time?
