Default Pharmaceutical grade castor ?

Hi folks, I need to mix a little castor into my Coolpower. I was wondering if pharmaceutical grade castor oil that I can easily get from my local pharmacy is good enough ? Any potential problems with it ? I figure that if it is good enough to be consumed, should be good enough for my Saito. Thanks for the inputs !

Thanks Shoe ! That pretty much confirms my concern of varnish content.....

OK I need some help here. I was planning to mix 2 ounces of castor (any comments whether this is good enough ?) into my 15% Coolpower for my Saito 100. Since I can't easily find good castor, I am thinking of mixing some 15% Omega into my 15% Coolpower and derive the castor content from the Omega. Question is how much Omega do I need to add to a full bottle of Coolpower ? Can somebody calculate this out for me ?

Here's some data I got off Morgan's website :

Omega 15% - 17% oil (30% castor; 70% synthetic)
Coolpower 15% - 17% oil (100% synthetic)

Thanks for the inputs !

Adding 2 oz of castor to a gallon (128 oz) of Coolpower would result in fuel with about 1.54% castor by volume (2/130=.0154). Adding 55.3 oz of Omega to one gallon of Coolpower will also result in fuel with 1.54% castor by volume. A simpler recipe would be to combine 2 gallons Coolpower to one gallon of Omega. This mixture would have 1.7% castor by volume, which would be the same as adding 2.2 oz of castor to a gallon of Coolpower.

Fred, thanks for the numbers ! I appreciate it very much. Are all fuel brands using vol% (instead of weight%) for the ingredients ? All I have to do now is to find a 3 gallon container to do the mixing. One concern though - will all the exposure of fuel to ambient air during mixing cause high moisture absorption ? Thanks !

Of the fuel brands I checked on, only Byrons lists the percentages by weight. Red Max, Morgan, Powermaster, Wildcat, Coopers, and S&W all list the percentages by volume. Regarding the moisture question, the mixing shouldn't take more than a few minutes, so I wouldn't worry about it. Have you checked your local speed shops and motorcycle shops for castor oil? That's where I buy mine.

WELL THIS MY OPINION THAT I USE LUCAS FULL SYNTHETIC 2 CYCLE OIL IN MY FUEL AT 3 OZ. PER GALLON BUT I USE A 30% NITRO BLEND FUELS AND THE OIL DOESNT AND HASNT GUMMED OR VARNISHED THE ENGINES IN ANYWAY I STARTED USING IT WHEN I CALLED LUCAS OIL PRODUCTS AND ASKED THEM THE BURNING QUESTION WILL IT WORK AND WILL IT BURN CLEAN? THERE ANSWER WAS IT WORKS PERFECTLY IT WAS DESIGNED FOR THESE APPLICAIONS IN MIND SO THATS THE OIL I USE FOR THE PAST 2 YRS SINCE THE NEW OIL BLEND HAS BEEN ON THE MARKET NO PROBLEMS AT ALL AGAIN THIS IS MY OPINION AND PREFERENCE

I bought mine from sigmfg. Cheapest price I could fine in quantities of a gallon.

Tower needs to sell gallon containers so they can get their price down.
