RE: Horsepower War A Brewing!!!
Ok, I have a question. How much is that going to cost to put in an xbe, baja, or equivalent? And how much will it cost to run that rig for 45mins to an hour?? Talk to me goose! hehe

While I admire what OBR, Dopile, ESP, CC Racing, Quickdraw and all the engine builders can do with a gasoline engine. I will gladly put one of these up against any motor mentioned in this thread, especially factoring in price/prerformance

Oh and Thanks AQwut for the pic!

Obeast are you calling out OBR?? You want to run against these dudes in the dunes?? LOL, LOL!! Why don't you put up some videos showing what this motor can do?? The 1/5 scale class has enough room for disversity!! But in my opinion anybody who has a 1/5 scale and puts an electric in it I do't understand why? I don't care if they are more economical , more efficient or faster I just don't like them. You can't smell or hear electrics. Boring!!

RE: Horsepower War A Brewing!!!
I dont think he's calling out OBR.. But electrics are very powerful, I'm considering doing this conversion to my Crypton, but the point I was trying to make to Obeast is the cost.. Apparently the setup in this vid is close to 1k, and that's not including the car..[&:] Which to me is just too much $$$ to be able to go backwards.. As the prices comes down then I'll revisit the idea.. But till then OBR all the way..

Thanks for the video. Car is decent. But I would be lost trying to drive an electric car because I kinda use the sound of my engine to appox how fast I am going around the track . I see you have a Mcd Rally car how do you like it?

Haha Noyb is right, Im definitely not calling anyone out. Ive had my fair share of OBR engines and they all have been drivetrain abusers!
I was just adding a different perspective to the horsepower war, is all. Remember, diversity is a good thing.

No problem! I hear ya, I'm still not ready for that jump (electric) either.. But someone on this thread keeps trying to put a xb-e in my collection... I love the X4 Rally, great car to drift\race. My EVO-10 has a lot more grip and but doesn't allow you to drift or power slide as much or at all. The X4 to me is the perfect blend of the two, as long as know how to drive that is..

I've got about 3 full tanks of some hard running and the tires seem to be holding up well for me. Nice BMW body btw!

noyb how are your tires holding up on your Mcd Rally? Some Rally owners have complaned about accelerated tire wear.

Obeast I have to admit that the electric buggy handle quite well and jumped well it appeared very will balanced. Unfortunately the only platform that the twinn can show its potental right now is sandrails. Until a after market manufactor makes a new chassis and address the issue of balance and center of gravity with a inline twin and beefed up drivetrain components the inline twin is not going to be able to compete in offroad or onroad races . The inline twin motor is great it just needs that aftermarket manufactor who sees its hugh potential and makes a better chassis so it can go beyond being just a sandrail and wheelie popper.

The US distributor will be TNG. Price now is showing all most $2,200. WAY TO MUCH FOR ME IF I CANNOT SIT IN IT AND DRIVE IT. I am very content with 5 to 7 HP.

RE: Horsepower War A Brewing!!!
I heard that they were suppose to be long lasting motors. And I have heard rumors that this 50cc BZM motor was suppose to put out 15hp. If that is true it is going to be real hard on the drivetrain and the current batch of tires I doubt would be up to task. But the price tag ouch!!

RE: Horsepower War A Brewing!!!
It does come with a pipe but still. The motor and pipe weighs a little more then twice as much as a standard CY or Zen with a good pipe. The plating on the cylinders is what they use on dirt bikes so they should hold up well. Not sure I can post a link to another forum here but there is a thread on HBF that started yesterday and is all ready up to 7 pages. They are running VERY tall gears with it. Pictures of an installed engine.

Stock gearing on my 5b ss was 17/57 They are running 28/46. [X(] It is really a impressive engine but if I had that kind of my to spare I would buy a MCD RR V4!

Any idea when the 23, 26, and 28cc bzm engines will come out for sale and how much? The bigger engines are overkill, but think I'd like to get a 26cc or so. Especially if they are nicasil coated cylinders.

RE: Horsepower War A Brewing!!!
I agree the big over powered engines are not for me. 4 to 7 HP is more then enough. For years I had a lot of fun with my stock 26 with a good pipe. From what I have read the smaller BZM are going to sell for around a $1000. I think they are so busy with their high dollar high HP engine they are on thinking about the smaller engines which I think they would sell more of.
