Just an odd question, to those pet dog owners with a hyperactive bladder, how do you stop them from repetitively "marking" their territories on certain objects, say, a 1/6 Bigfoot? [&:]

My pet 3yr old husky is a complete wuss, scared of lightning and full size cars and is scared of the Bigfoot. For a long time it never come near it but when it "marked" the car once (lucky on one of the tires) which I believe when I forgot to take it walkies once when I told him I will...well... he kept on doing it now.

It got to the point of perfect aiming where I could see a pool of yellow urine right around the tire when I put the Bigfoot on the floor and only a teeny drop actually made contact on the tire. I believe he wanted to tell me something......

Anyhow, should I:

1. Next time around, chase him around the backyard with the MT and see who's boss

2. Spray [insert here] to prevent him ever coming near it again (I know he's extremely allergic to the liquid inside a citrus peel)

3. Install a shock dog collar

4. Install a spray dog collar

Any other options would be appreciated

P.S. I don't really want to neuter him since it will be extra hell to us for 6 weeks or so.

I had the same problem with my MB and my two-year-old son...not the peeing...he just would not leave it alone! He pulled the antenne tube off, skillfully removed the body pins, and decorated the shell with crayon. I had to put and end to it, but my wife really wanted to keep him...Women!!!

It was quite a dilema. Finally...I had to MOOOOVE IIIIIT!

Find a new place for your MT...a work bench, a table, or build a stand for it if you feel creative. [8D]

Understandably, we are in the middle of a home renovation and nothing is really above the floor There are cabinets around the house but unfortunately, none are wide enough to accomodate the massive width of the Bigfoot MT [&:]

Shock collars work wonders if yoy catch him in the act. You cannot shock after he has done it. He will not know why he is getting fried.

Its a real photo from RC Car Action Magazine. They built an E-Maxx with a flame thrower and used it to burn a Tamiya Bruiser to the ground. Poor bruiser.

The Bruiser was such a awsome RC. It sucks to see them do the demo with it. They should have just went to Radio Shack and got a car and had the same results.

Buy some tent material and make a washable cover for the truck. Use a small roll of newspaper on the dog's ass everytime it hikes. Sooner or later it will get the message and you will have a kool cover!

If you catch him in the act, then having a loaded SuperSoaker handy often does wonders, both with dogs and cats.

Try vinager, it will clean the wheels and the smell keeps them away. My "wife" has 2 small dogs and they are just getting use to the new house. This is why we went with full hardware floors and ceramic tile throughout the house.

you can also use natures miracle. It takes the scent out so the dog will never know he went there. Selwa, it works wonders in the house to for accidents. You can get it at any pet store.

I'll have to give that a try Mike! Thanks! Since they're her dogs I have to be patient!! They are small so it's not too bad. (Toy poodles). However without the wife I wouldn't be able to have a new 2500 square foot fully funished house almost paid for!!!. Not to mention she bought me my front cable disk brakes for my FG!!! What more can you ask for!!.

id put him in a fenced in yard and chase him all day til he was scared sh*tless of it. other than that the vinegar idea was good to,but u can also try febreze, that should eliminate the odor thats he's smelling to remind him of thats where he pee'd b4. good luck.

my friends rotwieller chases are trucks around and bites at the tires as we're playing.

install a washer pump on the truck to squirt the dog back,
think its that leader of the pack thing, you just got to work out who you prefer at the top, after yourself of course

Your dog will stop doing it in a few days as soon as the house looses the old owners scent.

As you are no doubt well aware Huskys are far too headstrong (even the wimps) to be bothered by supersoakers etc Lovely dogs but they just don't do the obedient pet thing.

Get one of those fold up work benches. That way you have it off the floor AND out of range plus the work bench makes a great stand for working on the MT. Hey, if the dog can pee that high, I would not attempt to discipline it too much and let it in your bedroom while you sleep. [:'(]
Home Depot, Lowe's, Harbor Freight.
Just be glad that your dog does not wake you up every 2 hours during the night to go. Not much fun walking in the rain when you are 3/4 asleep. Live in an apartment so I have no choice but to go for a walk.

I agree pigsmightfly - these dogs are extremely intelligent but far too headstrong, a lot of times we want to give him away but then he'll do something so cute we don't have the heart to. Everyday I have to literally baby feed him, he won't eat his dog food, only want to eat what we eat. It seems when these dogs understand we are his pack, he wants to be one of us - a human as well.

Last night, I got myself a medium dustbin (2 ft. high), placed the MT on top, and when I got home, a pool of urine was on the bottom of the dustbin. Even after several hours of marking it, I call him and point at the pool, he goes from super cheery to sitting down with his head bowed down away from me. He gets that its wrong, but still keeps doing it. That's why we call him an ADHD dog.

I'll try the vinegar trick, since we can't find any Nature's Miracle down here If that fails, I'll just have to chase him around the yard with the MT and make him known whose 2nd in command!

Get a *****, they are a lot less trouble, a lot more protective and they don't lift their leg.
