After a few good tubles here and there i got these battle scars. I am just wondeirng if this has ever happened to you and what can i do to fix it and prevent this from happening again?

By the way i am running the NGK CR8HIX spark plug which is a tad taller then the stock champion.

Thanks

i think its because that the plug is taller that you have had the problems unless u run it without the body or does it rub on the body did you have to make that hole or is it beccuse of the plug

I run truck with the body on at all times. The hole on the body for the spark plug was damaged after some bad landings. The plug still sits below the bed liner so i am not sure if the body was cutting away the spark plug cap.

I think i remember reading on that. Do you have a link for it? So is the damage from the plug being hit when the truck is on its roof or is it from the edge of the hole rubbing on the boot?

How do i fix the spark plug cap? I don't know how long i will be able to run with the coils from the spark plug cap sticking out like that.

the plug you should use if you cant find stock champion plug is the ngk 7mrh which is smaller in height and a hotter heat range - the plug you have fitted cmr8 hix is a performance plug but is to tall giving it no protection from your roll cage. "8" is also a colder heat setting meaning it wont burn oil off as good unless you do a lot of high speed drives which i doubt with a off roader.the tall plugs are used in onroad cars that have the engines horizontal.might also be worth spending £10 on a alloy spark plug cap.as for the splits in the shell - thats life though sickening when its a new model.

the spark plug cap looks like another bling factor that could be added. What is involved in putting it on? Do i need to cut the old one off?

Now i just need to find out if there are shops in the U.S with one.

Thanks

the old caps just twist off - just turn them like a screw and fit the new one the same way - just twist them, the metal plugs are meant to stop interference from enginge through to your radio gear also - if you get stuck finding one in usa the link i posted has cheap shiping.
