mite be a problem with compreesion, if you haven't got the right compression your engine wont run and if it does it'll run like crap. it mite be your 27cc head kit try it with the original head.

could just need a new ring - my engine was only few hours old then it started running crap top end - just takes one bit of crap to get caught up in the head and the rings damaged,i had exactly the same prob - tried stripping and cleaning carb,checked petrol lines,put instant gasket on head,messed round with needles but nothing made a dif - thought the last thing it would be was ring as the engine was new - but it was that - runs spot on now.
