Default New member with a marder!

Hi all

thought id introduce myself to all you other petrol lovers

I have a marder 26cc, hopups are K&N filter (not to keen on them but anyway), front cable brakes (tuning version), alloy spur carrier, suppression cap, Horrmann jumbo rear tires (very worn lol), Horrmann wheels and other little stuff

it was originally an MB but i was tired of the poor handling and constant rolling over so i converted it to a marder, it was a bit of an expensive mistake but im happy with it now

enjoy

Nice ride Monstrous, good luck with it.

A bit of advice, dump the K&N, I had one and it is more of a sieve then a filter. If that is all you have for now, limit the dust you play in, or use a pre filter of some sort.

i was thinking of putting the stock one back on for now, then going for a pit stop tuning filter

p113, i am down south near London, you know where Aldershot is??

why dont you rate the k&n filters - i cant fault them but ,unless its the copy K&N u see on ebay 10 for a £1 that have paper thin filter and no oil

I ran a K&N for a 2 tanks, with an Outer Wear over it. When I took the filter off to clean it, there was dust inside the filter. If it was in the filter, it is in my engine and shortening its life span.
The performance was great with the K&N, but not to the point I would sacrifice my engine for the gains.

i had MT tires, i hated them, so much better handling with marder tires

as for K&N's, they are okay, but i really want to get a pitstop tuning filter

they look pretty, but a decent foam one like the PS one will save my engine and increase performance

oh, and i havent got enough money for a samba

Bit of a tip Monsterous, try the stock filter and put a sock(yeah, the ones on ya feet)over it,run me Beetle on this set up and it does'nt delay top end power or acceleration. Get a good one though, not a farmers one.
This is'nt a joke it does work.

Panty hose also work well for pre-filters.

mine used to all the time, i tried everything, negative camber, wider track, removing roll bar, lighter oil etc. still rolled because of the higher centre of gravity, now ive converted it to a marder its 10 times more fun

Nice looking marder you have there, like the color [sm=thumbup.gif]

Try to change the k&n filter as soon as you can, i was very skeptic to those since they first was introduced, no way they are good for off road, they are crap. Buy a pitstop filter or the original fg monster filter, that fg filter is really good and well worth the money, and for even better protection i use panty hose, they works very well [sm=thumbup.gif]

For a hoop up, aluminum rims perhaps or another cheaper tune pipe then samba ? fg is pretty good to, and lauterbachers etc.

Hey man, Nice marder. If you want to spend some money I suggest an Elcon rear suspension set which includes upper and lower wishbones and uprights. Have a look at them, rock solid compaired to the fg ones and makes setting toe angles a breeze.
