The Hummer is awsome. It is heavy, but is very well built. The drive train is metal and a thick nylon. Im sure its not the most expensive electronics but its been great. I was suprised with the speed and torque ratio. Very decent for its size. Charges last long and go strong untill the end. Despite its heavy weight it runs good in grass and up hills. I would like to see mod's others have done to these. I cant see a way to save much weight. If you find one on sale GET IT! Batteries can be had for $13 and up. I would have bought more if I had enough room to put them.... VERY COOL! Very solid construction.

If you did not get one due to the "professional" RC snoots that likely never really checked this one out. You will be sorry if you ever see one and how solid they are built. Find them if you can.

Oh and any viable ideas as to mod it would be great.

I've been thinking of getting one of these myself. This thread was started as a request for reviews on this vehicle, but after looking thru all the posts,it seems to have turned in a "views" thread as to which type of 1/6 scale,or +,is better or the best.Has anyone had some radio time with one of these yet that can give an objective summation of it's quality and potential?

Waldo P.

Remember, the Humvee was designed by the boys at AM General, the fleet/military design division of American Motors, note the 9 slot grille and round headlights that harken back to the CJ and MB that served the US armed Forces so long, and so well.GM simply bought the rights and a few prototypes when Renault decided to sell AMC and JEEP off and run back home.

I just picked one up today. My local Wally World has them on special for $49!!! The boxes are all beat up but who cares about the box!

These are a sweet deal!! My daughter is 4.5 yrs old and loves this thing.

Check this out there is a switch on it for sound! Diesle idle sound and then sound when you go. When you go forward the headlights come on. When you go in reverse the tail lights come on.

The AM Radio system is like all of the others from HPI or Traxxas. 4 Radio Fqz to choose from (ABCD). It is a 3 channel radio - guess what the 3rd channel is for....... ready to fire the missle!! Thats freaking cool! The radio system has trim adjustments too.

I was able to drive around the front yard without disturbing anyone drove it on the street went over curbs its fun and for $49 the fun factor goes through the roof!!! I really enjoy this and would have paid more too. As for parts there is a number to call in the manual. Its a solid build.

My wally world had 5 left. I might go get another one or maybe 2 for when my nephews come over they can get their GI Joes and have fun shooting each other and I dont have to worry about buying parts for my $$$ cars or trucks. I will post a video soon!

Now go get them b4 their gone and you miss the opportunity to have a blast for $49!!

sorry to bring this thread back... lol but yeah this thing does suck, first offroad rc thing i got and like 10 min in the first drive i go up a small bump to drive in the grass and the steering servo broke in a unrepairable spot spent like 3 days trying to fix it and i threw it in my closet. thats pretty much the only thing wrong with it and it made it undrivable almost the whole things made of very durable materials and the most important piece is made of a thin plastic tube. so heres what my hummer looks like now lol, its a trailer for my m5 Stuart im workin on. heres the link, the pic of its way at the bottem [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5385433/tm.htm]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5385433/tm.htm[/link]

Its been five years since I started this thread and I was just a kid then.
Now i'm 22 and after a long absence, i'm ready to finish this project once and for all!
I burned the original humvee years ago after it broke but now I have come across 3 of them at a garage sale.
I have already started modifying the chassis of one to be as realistic as possible and i'm vary satisfied with the result so far.

Plan on going brushless

PICS COMING SOON you will want to see this, I guarantee it

When its done it will be a HUMMER H1

ORIGINAL: SELWA

Here's my $3500++ FG with a $20 New Bright hummer body on it for winter driving. This weeked I'll be a Monster Jam in the Skydome/Rogers center with it as well!!!

Where did you get the shell for that price??? You gave me a great idea. Back in 2005-2006, I bought New Bright truck of same scale as yours. My son had a lot of good times with it. I was about to get rid off such truck when I came across your post. I had the truck in the garage and my new MT was next to it in the garage. It did not occur to me that the shells where close in size/dimensions. I have now finished trimming and setting the new shell on my MY and looks very good.

Let me know where I can get the shell as I'd like to get a HUMMER shell as well to my collection.

Thanks.
