I'm not cutting anyone down - i seriously don;t understand how someone can have "THE SAME AMOUNT OF FUN" driving a 12 volt toy, as a FG truck.

Then that is your problem, not everyone elses. If you have an open mind and a good imagination you can have fun with anything.

Just cause YOU don't think it's fun doesn't mean other don't think it is.

I never said they don;t have fun, I was just saying that I don;t understand how.

Please explain it to me - maybe I'll understand how you can have the same amount of fun.

I'm not going to try to convince you of anything you have your mind set against. I refuse to waste any more time on you, I could care less what you think anymore.

This is pointless, stay out of this thread and make everyone happy. That is all you have to do.

We'll discuss the truck and the fun we'll have. You can ignore it. In fact I insist. Ignore this thread and post elsewhere please.

Continiung to post only shows that you exist in this thread solely to argue. Please prove me wrong and do not post in this thread again.

I think what J D was saying was it would be MORE fun with a gasser than a 15mph battery powered truck.

The guy started this topic asking for reviews etc, I gave mine & J D is giving his & other people are giving theres so i dont see what the problem is.. Its a forum with disuccions & all discussions will have people who agree & people who dont agree on 99% of subjects posted!

If the starter didnt want people to say things such as "that truck aint great", then he should have not asked for reviews! & instead just said something like "my new truck" then im sure every reply would have been posotive/thumbs up for him. We dont post to delibrately (sp?) to lash down other peoples trucks, But when someone starts a thread asking for reviews on a certain model/part etc because (at the time) he said he was thinking of buying the truck, people gave there reviews/opinions trying to help him/her decide.

In my original reply i tried to help & gave my opinion/review to help him decide what to do, & in return i get called a spoiled brat! ...i have to admit though, i did lol irl when i read his reply \o/ ..but still not a wise reply to someone who was trying to help you *decide*!

Seems to me after reading the rest of the comments from both sides that the starter of this thread had ALREADY bought the truck before he made this thread & was hoping everyone would say "buy it, its great" (why i dont know!? ..bump his ego or summit?) but instead he got the opposite & didnt like what people were saying about his new truck, I mean come on, if you were thinking of buying a certain model/part & made a post on here asking for comments first & people said "dont buy it" etc.. would you honestly turn around & start calling people idiots/spoilt & whining OR would you take the advice given with a thanks for pointing you in the right direction!?

Imo this useless thread needs to be closed, & maybe the starter should make another titled "My new RC truck" like he should have in the 1st place

Here's a good pic on the transmissions.

These could handle anything you could dish out. ALL METAL THROUGHOUT.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1-6-Ultimate-Sol...QQcmdZViewItem

You could modify this truck with some faster ESCs and have a nice fast electric 12V truck.

Whoa! HPIGUY, That is a serious piece of hardware for a Walmart car! Wonder if there is enough room in the
Humvee to outfit it with a paintball gun.

JD, fun is relative.

fun aint allways fast just check out crawlers all you need is some fantasy
but i guess all the fuems from fuel have burnt our brains
i sometimes think slow can be kinda nice. and that transmission seems to be able to handle years of use
sometimes i think it's to much power in the Marder.. you need a good damn footboll field to be able to run it well:P
sometimes beeing able to just destroy the floor inside is really fun or the backyard:P
and still 200$ is alot if they found the right manufactur.. those poor chinese workers that sleep at their workdesk and get like 0.50$ an hour and got no weekends etc..
they really get out stuff cheap.

All i can say to this is that i have at least as much fun with my crawler that i have with my big scales, it's just different kind of excitement. With the big scale it's fast action fun, with the crawler it's thrilling suspense hanging on the edge... understand that going fast is not the only way to have fun, thank good I love my big scale's and i love my rock crawler [sm=thumbup.gif] Love that gasoline smell in the morning and love the quiet crawl in the nighttime.

Don't really know how much fun that hummer would be, quite heavy and slow and not much ground clearance, but i guess it could be made to perform better... at least it's a nice scale look on it, but buying a Tamiya hummer would be a wiser choice in my personal opinion. Don't care much for those wallmart toys, they break easy and no spare parts and are overweight and slow, but try it and tell us how fun it is.

Yeah, I was supporting you, but if you have to yell at everything then I'll ask you to calm down a little bit.

It's OK if others disagree with you.

Just don't call other people names like brats and such please.

It's cool, but it ain't so special as you may think. It's way to big and clumsy, takes up allot of space to drive it, big turning radius, not much or any tune-parts, and spares are hard to get hold of. Sure it's fun for a few times driving something that big, but then it just stands there and not being used at all Sure mcd makes good quality car's (really good quality), but the hummer is just to damn big, compared to their monster trucks and fg's monster truck.... it's way to big.

The fg's are much better, they are just within the size that keeps being fun after driving for a few times, you just want to continue using it, but in my opinion the fg monsters and those 1/5 road-cars are the upper limit that will last for a long time, as it is still movable, and it has tight turningratio and don't take up that big space when driving and to store it, and there is tons of tune-parts etc for them.

Just my thoughts

I wonder why that kid.. sorry, person don't just get his wallmart hummer and be done with it ? As he can see that there is not many who have it, and it's for him to get it and show us how great it is, as he seams to have a strong connection to that kind of car

Your saying you would be having the same amount fun, putting around at 2 mph, and barely being able to go over anything.

Than going 50 mph, doing big jumps, and going thru tough terrain with ease ?

I like real looking rc and I have one of the Nylint Rock crawlers. I think its cool to slowly crawl over stuff. It's a different kind fun than blasting around with the FG MB. I checked out that hummer and the tanks and I think they are neat and I might just get the tank. I have a thing for tracked rigs. If you like the hummer get it. The more scale looking an rc is the more I like it. That is one of the reasons I'm getting the HPI Baja 1/5 scale. Looks like a real dune rail.

They say that the hummer is better than the tanks because the the tanks brake more easily . LINK TO M1A2 VIDEO ..............[link]http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?userid=56099&currentDate=20051228&imageNum=0[/link]

Default RE: walmart $200 1/6 ultimate soldier humvee

pretty pathetic thread....alotta bashing a dude over buying a electric rc...most yelling for him to get a FG...kinda makes FG wome owners look stupid, how they can rip on a guy for asking some simple advice...hate to bust some of your bubbles but electrics can be setup to easily outrun gasers....and you really want serious speed attach a turbine......this threads like comparing apples to oranges....sure that walmart rc ain't top of the line but neither is the FG....the FG's the Kmart version is all with a gaser on it....still has it's issue's and all FG owners know that....read the forums they are loaded with FG problems. I fly at a field with over 500 members and 90% fly nitros....8% more fly gasers....the last 2% fly turbine....I own 3 turbine planes myself....but I still fly my nitro's and gasers....does it make those junk cause my turbine's cost 5 times more? No, as a matter a fact one of my favorite planes to fly is nitro powered. The purpose of RCU is to support the RC Hobby not bash it or attempt to corner it. FG makes a good gaser but it's not the best by any means and FG owners should have some more respect for the hobby, alot of people prefer electrics and not everyone spends the cash some of us do on this hobby. I say buy what you can afford. Who cares what it is. I spend $500 for XTM gasers that blew engines 10 minutes into their first runs cause XTM includes a crap air filter...so even a $500 RC isn't perfect...nothing is.
Anyone ever see a $13,000+ RC plane hit the ground cause of a $30 servo? Isn't fun but hey it happens. Let him buy what he can and give your honest opinion not a rip at the dude.
