RE: Shocking
This truck is no longer a crawler. It never was, really. Originally it was to be a giant Clodzilla but I've decided to make it all-electric with solar panels and all sorts of goofy NASA-like crap. It will be a rover.
I have far too much into this to punish it. More pictures soon.

It's a mess, but whatevah. TBJ insisted I post pictures.
Once I get this steering crap out of the way, I'll post a video of it operating.

Had I opted for a more reasonable steering system, this damned thing could have been in the dirt already

This is quite possibly the sexiest thing I've saw in a while. [X(] I wish I could help, but I have no idea where to get the parts you're hunting.

Thanks for the compliment!

Wow I can't believe I just found out about this build. Totally awesome. And I really like your steering system! Simple yet complicated at the same time lol
Where the steering tubes ends, did you just center drill a hex cap screw ? That is a neat idea.

Yes. They are 1/4-28 screws drilled and countersunk. The idea was to have some adjustment to remove cable lash. The same is on each axle. They work like the adjustment screws on bicycle brakes.

I realize this thread was started just for the shocks but I've done some work on it recently and thought I'd toss out some photos.
The drive shafts I made back in the day never really blew my skirt up so I replaced them with some heavy stainless models from SDP/SI.
Also, that huge PC board I was forever designing is in process. I finally ordered the board and have been assembling it for the last couple of weeks:
I'll post more when I get off my ass and continue.

I mocked up the new wheels and tires to get some design work completed for the hubs. I was also able to figure a method for mounting the calipers. The wheels are huge when compared to the older beadlocks. I'll post more photos after the parts are machined and everything is assembled.
