Is the rope pulled all the way out and won't rewind into the starter housing?

Ok..Once you get the pull starter figured out....Now to start your baja with the 813 carb...turn on transmmmiter ..then baja battery on..
now push the clear prime bulb on carb till you see gas in the bulb....now pull the throttle trigger twice...that will squirt gas in to engine..now pull the
pull starter..it should start in a couple pulls..If not give another trigger pull ..then pull the pull starter it should run now...Some times it just takes
about 4 pulls to start...That's what was recommended to me to do with my 813 carb..Mine starts ok...Best to you and your baja....

go to the DDM website and order the aluminum starter ring (pawl)...it will solve all your problems.

just found out what happened,a couple of fins on the flywheel broke off,got jammed in betweenthats why the pull start wouldnt turn the engine over, unjammed it seems ok now,is it ok to use the flywheel with some fins broken off, theres a couple on the front side and back side broken off, will it effect anything, can i still run it and is there anything i can do to prevent it from happening again, what would cause that, rocks,i do have the outerwears cover on the pullstart, thanks.

sounds like you brought a baja that hasnt been maintained...
its not a problem though..
if i were you i'ld set a side a day and pull ya engine out,
get a new pullstart they're cheap enough,
clean airfilter well, and reoil,
inspect ya gaskets between the carb and inlet,
inspect ya plug and change if unsure,
re set ya coil gap,
inpect for gaskets blowouts,
inspect fuel tank and lines for spits/leaks, clean clunk filter (inside tank)
refuel with fresh fuel and good 2stroke oil.....

its a real de-motivator when ya engine just wont play the game
so take ya time to get the engine to start and run reliably and that'll help keep ya pullstart from braking often

good luck

So did you did you do the engine screen mod yet?Not only you my friend but for other people as well should do the
screen mod..save ya from buying a new fly wheel when you do not have the extra money to spend...
Enjoy your baja and have fun...AKA Slawhammer
