I just don't think it really looks right. Why didn't they just come out with a conversion kit? I'm still waiting for an HPI 4wd monster truck.

yep i was really hoping that they would make a 4wd monster truck aswell , kinda disapointed to see just a new version of 2wd turned into a truck , and yeah something about it that it doesnt look right , and we'll proberly have to wait another 2-3 years for them to make a 4x4 monster . They made the 5B , 5T , now its time for what everyones been waiting for is a 5T4x4 MT

All it is is a 5b with a different body on it. No extra engineering-just some makeup on a 5b.

HPI can keep it I won't buy one, they are going to be 1500.00 here in Canada.

A absolute and total waste, it should have been 4x4.

For that kind of money, I'd buy another FG.

I sympathize with your frustration, but sadly this is the way the hobby is going. Even at the smaller scales, electric and nitro cars are being re-released almost monthly with minor modifications and different bodies. Very few ground up designs are being released.

lol when and if no body buys the new 5T and if 5T sales are really bad they might wake up and rush out a new model of a 4x4 MT , in my own opinion the new 5T is just a double ended main chassis thats been shortend and then just screwd on some plastic bumber bar extensions front and back , it really reminds me of how the savage x looks like . It just really doesnt make sense at all , they should have made a 4x4 MT , its really frustrating you know arnt hpi reading forums like this they should know that all of us want a 4x4 monster truck .

I have to agree a 4x4 would be great cause that is what I want also.
But here is the thing
Is the engine in this buggy or 5t enough to power a 4wd or will they need more engine.
From what I have seen the new 5t sounds a bit boggy but has decent speed.
Further more 2wds make it more fun in the sand which is what I am going to be doing with a 1/5 scale.
So I am still thinking about the buggy anyways
but a 4wd truck would be awesome for the winter months and the sand too I guess

We asked for it?? Are they having a laugh? We asked for a 5th scale gas 4wd Savage and the 5'T' name has been wasted on THIS?? You can already have one of these with one of the TT conversion bodies.

What on earth were they thinking. [&o]

I have a feeling these are not going to be as big a seller as they think[]I think a conversion kit will sell better IMO

When I first saw it I was kinda impressed
Then I read about it
thought about it
Still going to buy the SS buggy
Build it myself and I feel it will be better in the sand
Open wheels and paddles are just too much fun
