Just please, do not use the cheap china aluminum, if thats the case don't bother to make them.
If your using quality material, we would be interested in buying in large numbers, so if your serious about making them right, count us in and contact us direct if need be.

Thank you

i reackon under a $100 for two rims like $80 to $89 lol i dont know if thats too cheap but hell we need quality cheap alloy rims that will look good and do the job and hopefully not warp with the power load stresses and heat . At the moment there is good looking plastic aftermarket sets for the baja5b that im interested in , but if some one starts making good looking alloy rims at an affordable price then yeah its worth spending a little extra

I have tried alloy wheels on my 1/8 scale RC vehicles. They did not hold up to hard running. They would bend or warp and are HEAVY. Rotating weight is a BIG HP eater. In my opinion they are for shelf queens only.

46u has a point. Alum, being heavier than plastic, has considerably more moment of inertial. And this kills acceleration and HP at the wheel

As for the dims, unfortunatly, to help minimize the moment of inertia of these thing, unfortunately you will have to go with a smaller diameter rim. Since the moment of inertia is a square function, an incraeas of the diameter raises the moment of inertia exponentially...especially if the meat of the mass is concentraded at the outer diameter. When you design you rims, be sure to play with the calculations to give yourself an idea as to what your moment of inertia will be with your alum rings.

Now this raises another quandary. Going with a smaller diameter wheel (a diameter that is amaller than industry standard tire ID for Baja 5B/T), you will have to also make custom tires. One with a smaller rim diameter but the same tire height on Bajas.

As for tire sizes, you unfortunately will have to buy some of different brands and makes and measure the dims yourselves. I do not think there is such a thing as JumboKong tires for 5B/5T or other 5th/6th scale gassers (I believe those tires are made for 8th scalers, Savage, Revo, TMaxx, LST, MGT).
If you can make your own tire yourselves, then you have yourselves an advantage in that you can make smaller diameter alum wheels to help manage the moment of inertia form the increased weight of the metal AND make the custom tires to fit your unique wheels!

Other than looks I think plastic rims are best for these cars. They're strong enough and cheap enough to replace whenever.

A properly designed aluminum rim, out of quality alloy will surrvive many beatings and last a long time. It will rob horsepower, but most people running them are not using small engines. There are alot of people that like to use them for the strength factor at the dunes, and also for the bling factor.

May be on soft sand they will hold up OK but on something like packed Georgia Red Clay and doing 3 to 6 foot jumps I would have to wonder no matter the quality of the alloy. If and when I put a hotter engine in my Baja 5B I sure do not want to eat some of the HP up in alloy wheels as you are just defeating the purpose in my opinion. I do all I can to try and keep my RC vehicles as light as possible. Weight is HP!

If and when you try good alloy wheels with your if and when high horsepower engine, you will be surprised. They aren't for everyone, but some people enjoy the best of both worlds. Defintiley not for racing, but for having fun without constantly breaking rims or pulling beads out.

if your saying those jumbo kingkong tires are ment for savage and revo3.3 and such then i have to say its for bling too cos they are really heavy and useless and if used on savages they are completely slow and useless . ive got the jumbo maxx tires for my savage and they slowed it down really terrible . i only buy the jumbo maxx tires so i can re tread my baja tires .

what i want to see made for the baja5b is rims that are wider and just a bit taller

I guess some do not care about weight. To me it is a big factor as weight particularly rotating weight is a big HP eater. 10 pounds for a set of wheels is out of the question to me as the wheels will weight just a few pounds under half of what I hope my 5B SS weighs ready to run with out gas.[X(]

we are in debating which catagory to get the cnc rims out...
1. MT; fit FS Racing, Smartech/Nutech, MCD/FG (standard size rim) plug and play.. same tire can used.
2. Buggy; fits FG/MCD maybe KM.
price is tb announce...
thanks a lot!

10 lbs a set?!?![X(] my revo is just shy of 10 without gas. i realize that the gas engines have massive torque, but strong plastic does seem to be the best choice in my opinion.

just got quote from the local machine shop, they want 149 a pop...
that is way to much for a piece of rim...149x4 that is almost 600 for set of rim...
goodness.

waiting for factory to see if cost could come down a little

How abt Baja? r u being biased toward baja owners? some of them wanted to use big monster tyre on them...but reading on the thread like ur not responding to each of them request on baja using big tyre.
