RE: trevor simpson 29.5
I'd wait until we got the diff cup shafts sorted before you put that powerhouse in it...many of us ramp owners running bigger ported motors are breaking the upgraded shafts at the pin holes on aregular basis..I done 3 so far. Redcat being super responsive to owner feedback will hopefully sort it soon as they have the other teething problems..it's just a steel type/hardening/tempering issue that needs to be resolved.

there may be some outdrive help on the way.bill at the nitro pit is considering offering up some more hardened tool steel outdrives. i am runnig a 28.5 with them in my tt and the shafts have been fine. i had a dogbone go out of center and break one due to a funky anle. but i have a new set on the way.

I hope so because I broke a MCD Dogbone a two weeks. Being that I bought it from LargeScaleRC troy the onwer had replaced it for free, now thats what I call good customer service. It doesn't help that I'm running that CAD Power 26cc in it either. AKA (Bklyn77)

would the ts29.5 be good for a redcat rampage mt

The only place I found where a complete TS engine is sold is by LSRC, and yes, it will cost well more than your entire RC!
http://www.largescalerc.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=940
(Unfortunately, it is always sold out, I guess that is how much everyone wants one).
The only other TS stuff I see being sold elswhere are only individual TS engine parts, not whole engines.

I wouldn't put a TS motor in a Redcat just yet. Maybe by the summer we'll be ready for that kind of horsepower. Come to think of it, the bajas aren't ready for that kind of power either.

I might be wrong ,but i think a TS reed engine can't be mounted on a FGMT due to clearance issues with the diff

Someone correct me if this is wrong.
Edit: Credit for the pic goes to Martin Eckeroth, I believe this is his engine.

To answer your question Pagani77
The TS engine would be fine for your Rampage as long as your driving habits are in check.
One of the killers for drivetrain issues is (WOT) wide open throttle from stand still stops. Meaning going full throttle from the get go on a steep incline thus say or pavement. hard surfaces etc. All though power hungry forces are transmitted all the way back to each part putting stresses everywere.[:'(] A crazy analogy is TorQ forces looking to break something. [>:]
Drivecups, pinions, dogbones etc start going out[&o]
Jumping is can be another killer to the drivetrain of a large scale. WOT before it hits the ground crunchs gears and put such a great stress on the driveline.- The weight of a 1/5 scale and depending on the power of the engine of choice contributes to this. I dont want to prevent anybody from not getting a high powered engine that haven't yet, but it really comes down to one's driving habits as an indication of the life of your 1/5 scale (drivetrain)will have.
I have 2 TS engines and a bunch more powerful gassers, and a godzillion engine parts, there great engines I have them in my MCD's, FG's, Redcat, Hpi, etc. With a the upgraded kit on your Redcat and a TS engine you should be fine

RE: trevor simpson 29.5
Only weak point we've found on the rampage driveline is the diff cup shafts snap at the pin hole when running bigger motors, I did 2 in one tank! 4 total....so I've tried tempering a pair of the upgrade ones to 900f and just ran the pants off it trying to break one and so far so good...I was trying to kill it, full throttle donuts, powerslides, jumps and lock the brakes from flat out (my normal driving)and the cups held up, I got ONB 28.5, 813 and 77 dom pipe...27/33 a and b gears and 50000 fr and rear...time will tell if tempering works. Another attempt at killing it tomorrow.

Like others have said, its an EXCELLENT engine but it's going to be the most strain you've ever put on your drivetrain - something that the Rampage is not particularly famous for.

I am looking for one myself, but I guess I will have to sign up in LSRC and join the waiting list for one []
