Well, the body is also on the way, found some blueprints Subaru 08 model, and made them the right size. And then i made some wood pieces, and a block of flamingo, a type of foam( don´t know the english word for it). I then used a 12V charger, a handle, made from a tube and wire(0,8mm) from a welder, to cut after the wood pieces, first front/back and then sides. I´m still missing a blueprint of the topview, so i can round of the shape.

I have been following your built for a long time, this is very nice work!! I finally created an account to be able to post.
I am also home-building a WRC impreza but it's a bugeye (I used a technokit subaru body) What body did you use as a base to make a 08 impreza ? |

I started with a Citroen Xsara body, but i didn´t like the shape, so i found some blueprints and made it from that.... I got a long way yet, the pics is on the way..... You have to make thread with your projekt, i like to see it. |

So you let the old body completely aside and you will build a new one from scratch ? What material will you be using for it, fiberglass ?
I noticed the blueprints are for standard impreza, non STi model, whereas the WRC have fenders even wider than the STi, will you be doing the fender flares byreferring topictures of the actual wrc car ? Fred Edit: I have found a site with front and rear pictures of an STi,not quite as good as ablueprint, and still missing the top one but I though it might be nice views to shape the flares. The blueprints of the STI is not to be found yet. And the wider fenders on my WRC, i have to make myself...The final body is going to be made in lexan... i hope :-) Wicked: I am trying to get my wife on the idea of a 1:1 08 Impreza..... but it is no easy.... |
