Such a good price for an MCD Race Runner!
I think this is the cheapest i have seen one and Free postage i have bought from them before and are good, just surprised you can get a brand new MCD for under £550!

That does look good. BTW, what is the current exchange rate of British pounds to USD? With the USD value so volatile right now, it is impossible for me to keep up.

Wow, that is a good price. MCDs are usually more than $1500 USD, so that $850 is a killer MCD price.

Hi i have never had a problem with them they are a massive store/buisness i bought my spektrum radio from them around 3 years ago best price and no postgae fees, obvisouly accross the pond they will charge but i can asure you i have never heard anything bad about them, they also sell on ebay so look at the UK ebay site under MCD and look at there feedback.

Looks like reality finally slaped them in the face or should I say their wallets...... its about time a engine was included and at 1/2 the original cost of a rolling chassis.
If they want to survive they have to compete.....they had a momopoly on the 1/5 4x4 market...that day has come and gone....I told people MCD will be dropping thier prices a year ago to keep up with the market. If they can sell the 4x4 MCD for $850 with a engine now and still make a profit.......how much profit do you think they were making with the rolling chassis for $1500, no engine no radio ORIGINAL: BJ888KW Checked out the price already shipped would be $897.00. Reason being it's a Sport model. They have just gotten all of the sport models finished & these will have better pricing than a competition. Kinda like FG, only the FG comp. models have always been crazy expensive. There is now an MCD for everyone's budget.

Actually the comp model will only come out to be a little over a $1000. shipped and that is with an engine and body painted.

Still being WAY cheaper that an alloy FG. The alloy is more of an on-road thing to me. I wouldn't run that on an off-roader anyway.

when i lived in the uk i bought from modelsport...i'd have no reservations ordering from them at all.
Shame the baja 1000 isn't the same price, I'd be tempted if it were. wow, mcd have finally smelt the roses and added an engine and slashed prices. |

they reduce our end price here in the usa by 15% beacuse they remove their countries tax or VAT

Hellya, you say finaly they have added an engine, maybe they didn`t in the states but thes have had engines fitted for a long while now it`s not a new thing. But when i saw MCDs about 3 years ago they didn`t come with engines and were very pricey.

seems like the currency exchange rate is off a bit though for us.. i have been checking some sites and and when i put in 649 euros is comes out to $874 roughly.. and the prices just changed on there site.. the comp model is now 726 euros it went up 77 euros.. where as the sport model dropped in price to 614euros from 649..lol

Well I went and did it! I ordered the Racerunner Comp model came out to be about $1030.US shipped. I was conflicted between this or the Baja 5T. Still may get the 5T but really want to wait for the SS model too good of a deal with the Tower discount. Will have to wait and see what kinda bonus I'll be getting.

Modelsport are a good supplier but the UK importer for the Race Runner is King Cobra, try visiting there website or Rossendale models run by Bob and Rik respectively. Both have raced the MCD Race Runner competatively along with other drivers and it holds its own on the UK tracks, 1 set of tyres seem to last all season!! Am aware that Bob and Sinad have been working hard to improve the Race Runner so expect some nice surprises in 2009 if you like your bling:D Other good outlets in the UK are S&B Racing (Si Ward), Stevo Tunning (Steve Backland), PGRacing (Paul Gresty) along with the Rapid Racing outlets (North and South West). If dealling with any of the above the dont be afraid to quote my name. Can not explain why such a big price difference but am sure that what ever you pay you will get a good bit of kit in the Race Runner Have fun and happy racing. i just dont get how the prices here for the comp model is $1300 without an engine... how can the justify that here? when the thing can be shipped to us for $300 less and with a 26cc engine..i mean i would rather keep my business in the US...but thats a big difference in price.

Looker now your just playing the dumb role;)...you knew and saw the prices in the U.K.....your were here in the forum and here in this thread... when these MCD shipped for alot less than your store. The price pretty much went up 2-3 days after I ordered it. Placed my order on Monday, shipped on Tuesday and got it on Thursday. It was $1023. USD shipped, shipping cost was $150. for express. Ripped open that box like it was Christmas morning. I have a FG Monster Beetle, and HPI Baja 5B SS and still can't get over the size of these cars. I originally was going to get the Baja 5T from Tower then this deal came along.

Hellya: Your the world searcher of bargins, what do you mean. Someone found an incorrectly priced item, or a Super special deal. Then come here to exploit it, which is against the rules, the way they were explained to me. Your acting like ( priced wrong, or Christmas Super Special pricing, or what ever the real reasons for the pricing was ) don't ever happen. Thats crazy ! I myself have been the person to recieve a deal on incorrect pricing. The one thing everyone failed to talk about in the thread is ALL of the other MCD dealers / distributors that did not have that pricing. We are not playing any kind of price gouging games & never have. The actual facts are the price of MCD's here in the U.S. has actually gone down over the last year, reguardless of the new Sport models. We appreciate all of our customers & support a product line that is totally worth the cost. We do our best to give deals when ever possible & there is always some kind of discount to be had when ordering from us on-line.
I'm sure the Free advertisement here was a huge help to making a profit for these guys. BJ888KW : You got an awesome deal & your one of the smart ones for taking advantage of a price like that. |
