Default filip v glider launching advice

i have been using a up-start to launch this glider. i use the dynaflight up-start for planes up to 100"

but recently some guys at my field said to use the winch lightly.
im a new flyer and they launched it slowly, although it kept coming off. any advice on if this is safe?

its only 58" wingpspan and its primarily a handlaunch so i dont know if its safe.

also, u can see the plane at hobby-lobby.com

thanks!

In that case, you should be fine to use a high-start. That wing will flutter if it's oversped, but it's reasonably strong from what I've been told.

The high-start will actually be easier to use in this case, since the pull is continuous instead of jerky. Buy a fishing scale and use it to monitor how much pull you add to the line. Stop when the wing flex becomes excessive, and be careful when using high-tension in the wind.
