Hobby Lobby Jerry
Was looking for a reasonably priced hotliner. Choice is between the Hobby Lobby Jerry or the Great Planes Siren. They both look very similar but the siren is $50. cheeper and Im leaning toward the Siren. Anybody have any experience with these planes? Would greatly appreciate any info. you have.

RE: Hobby Lobby Jerry
I have been flying a Jerry for the last year, it is not the fastest out there but it flies quite well. the only problem is it does't slow down for the landing. Have a long and smooth landing strip you will need it.

RE: Hobby Lobby Jerry
you need to tell us about your flying experience. If you have only flown parkfliers and such then the siren is a great intro duction to fast sailplanes (warm/hotliners). If you have more experience then your budget is the next concern. Expect to pay between $500 and $1000 to get a hotliner into the air. Answer these questions and I will let you know which plain will be appropriate and satisfying. For instance the siren is cheap, but it has a one piece wing that's a pain, and it gets boring pretty quickly. The nike2 is one of the more versatile planes as it will fly fast AND thermal pretty well. The Ion is all hotliner, and while you can thermal anything this plane prefers to be flown VERY fast on a powerful system.
