hello eagle chasers.........
i ve been building n flying sort of glider since 12 years, basicly it uses a .10 engine power pod above wings. and all up weight is about 900 grms or 1 kg.
want to convert with brushless system ......
all the suggestions r wel-come

Tell us some more.
Would you like to still run the motor on the pod? Or in the nose? If at the pod, how much propell could be used, diameter?
Short incomplete answer: 200Watt will give you a very good climb. 100 Watt will make if fly.

for exhisting glider , motor on pod would be fine as we dont have grass field in INDIA, but here is clearence of only 8" dia. prom, wont mind to make another pod for same if required higher dia prop.

i have a Dynaflite "Butterfly" kit , .10, .15 engine powered glider( 98" wing span, with engine mode aprox weight might be around 1200 - 1500 grms, i d like to convert it BL, (with good climbing authority) and minimising the weight, only purpose of motor is to gain height and few power brusts to hunt for thermal.........
is it good to have small dia prop running at higehr RPM than big dia, prop at slight lower RPM for a glider ????

On gliders we always want a large diameter propell and lower pitch, and not too much RPM. For sport the "middleway" is good, ie medium propeller and a pitch at 6-10". In the other end you find fans which require very high RPM and really small diameter and high pitch. Just look at the fan inside a ducted fan.
This is the reason why I asked for the propeller clearance
From the weight at appr 1 kilo I know you need at least 150 Watt to get a climb, gaining height but not fast climb.
The Nippy 1812/100 will give you 200Watt using an APC 8x6SF, and 180Watt using a Graupner CAM 8x6 folding propell. If you use a SF-propell the propell will brake a lot during flight of course. Or look for other motors able to run at 20A and kV-number close to 1000.
Since the Dynaflite is a bit heavier and I suppose you want to mount the motor in the nose? and you look for good climbing authority I think a brushless inrunner able to give you 300 Watt would be a choice. You don`t have to squeese all the 300 Watts out of the motor. One option which I have good experience from is the Jeti Phasor 15/4. Ran on 2S LiPo and using a 10x6 Aeronaut CAM folder it gives more than 1200 gram static and will draw appr 34A.
Only examples, there are a lot of motors out there. To get best climbs a geared setup and large diameter propell is better.
