Im still working on that spirit elite but i dont feel like springing for new mini servos in the fuse, I already want standard servos pushed as far forward to the nose to cut down on weight, but they are to wide side by side in any part of the fuse,

Is it a bad idea to lift one servo up about 1/8"(say the elevator servo) over the other so there arms pass or will this induce disaster and an unbalanced aircraft.

Let me know if anyones tried this or has any comments.

There is a modification review on liftzone. The servo installation is pretty clean.

Ya it looks good, but its an ARF and im building the kit for form of the spirit Elite. Mine is already way under that wing loading. I covered it with trans red and Black monokote It looks pretty good. Do you think the standard servos mounted staggered horns over top eachother is ok. Or will it cause an imbalance or mechanical problem.

thanks

I can't give you an accurated answer since I don't have the SP elite. But my flying buddy installed 2 servos (std or mini...not sure) far up front in his Spirit (not elite). The fuse width may be different but here is a pict for reference.

I have the built up spirit elite. I can send you a pic of my install if you want. I haven't flown it in a while but the servos are still in it. Email me if you can't figure it out and I will shoot a pic tonight for you if you want.

dpaul,
If I understand your idea correctly, then it's quite common. I mounted servos at different heights to clear control horns on a couple of planes. The front one was 1/4" to 1/2" higher. Just route your pushrods so that there's no interference.

Ya after looking at it closer i dont think it will make any difference in the balancing. im using these nylon push rods that came with the kit so there skinny enough to pass eachother on the way to the tail.

I also was wondering whats the best way to cut the canopy out perfectly to fit around base so everything is flush. That plastic styrene or whatever it is always gives me some grief.

Ill post some pictures when i get it together

let me know
