Got my Spektrum DX 6i and hooked it up to my Phoenix flight sim, works great, but never knew hovering was so hard to learn.
Learning on the Blade 450, as I intend to get one, it's accually on it's way to me.
everytime I hover my copter goes left, correct it by moving the right stick to the right, corrects it, but it is so hard to keep it in one spot, correct drift one way and starts going the other, the movments are so touchy, as a beginner you tend to over compensate and lose control.
Never knew hovering is so hard to learn? I know I will get there, but is going to take days, if not weeks just to master a hover. Anyway great fun.
Guess it's all about balance, move to much and you lose it.
Lucky I am using a sim.
Just keep making the corrections, one day it will seem like the helicopter is flying in one spot. What you will not notice is that it is you doing the corrections without thinking about it.
When you get your helicopter do not beat yourself up about hovering in one spot. Give yourself plenty of space to fly. As you progress, you will notice that you need less and less space to hover.

Cheers thanks for that, lucky I am using the sim first, would have crashed my new copter 100's of times.
I am getting slightly better at it, but have read somewhere, after awhile it just clicks into place.
I ordered my Blade 450 a few days ago, and still need battery, charger, training kit and a good case to store it all in, so even when I have the helicopter, will be sometime till I accually get to fly it, so in the meantime the sim is a good learning tool.

don't forget, that you can add some expo. it will make the stick less senstive around center. i like to fly my heli's with like 20%. play around with it and find what you like best

Thanks for the tip, I have my Blade MQX programmed, and adjusted the travels to like 30% for inside, worked a treat, had throttle at 100%, even adjusing these adjusted the senstivty of the Blade MQX, but 30% is sluggish.
Guess using the flight sim, does no harm to see what settings do and what I like and hopefully will get some idea, that way may be able to have some nice settings sorted before I get my helicopter. I have the settings somewhere for the Blade 450 intermedite and advanced settings, should try and play around in the sim.

Don't have a heli yet, but I have the same sim, but using the dx5 that came with it. I've been at it here and there for about 5 weeks now and can hover everything from the 450"s to the large scales. Yes, things will just fall into place without you even realizing it. Now i've stepped up the wind from dead calm to brisk. It's a lot easier doing things with no wind so now it's time to get into reality and get some wind and gusts going. Been looking at the Copter X CX V3 450 FBL to start with.
