A newbie with some airplane bits...
Hi all,
Firstly, apologies for partially duplicating post (i've already posted the help i'm new message
HELP I'M NEW.
I've been into the idea of model rc helis for a while but put off by the price. Now after a few years of model aircraft flying I see the cost of owning a flying rc heli has improved somewhat!
It was with great delight I came across your forum here, most of the questions I had have already been answered by reading through the posts, there are some very clever chaps posting. The problem I have is with the heli technology, I'm not sure whats compatable and whats specialist if you get what I mean.
The model that originally caught my eye was the Smartech Aerohawk, a fantastic all ready to go ready built setup (though the first thing I would probably do upon obtaining one is take it to bits again. Fixed pitch to boot, meaning a little less for me to deal with whilst learning. However, after a little investigation i find there are zillions of models in the mini electric league! Now I'm just plain stuck.
Now what I am after is value for money that I can fly in my lounge, the aerohawk seems the best in that catagory. But to throw in extra confusion I am looking at what light gear I already have, namely...
a jeti jes050 speed controller (1.2g/5A cont. power/14x14x5mm/6-8 cells/2 servo BEC)
A jeti 4ch REX4 Micro rx
A futaba skysport 6ch TX
I also have a 4-7cell peak charger and a few 500mah cell packs.
Can using this lot save me £££'s ?
Help, I'm a hair away from buying the aerotech kit.
Kindest regards
Crash

Oops, I just bought a dragonfly with a gws rx, a gws gyro and a feda speed controller plus spare odds and ends
I hope I made the right decision, the web makes it far to easy to part with ones cash these days
