I am getting my first heli (Raptor 50v2) after the holidays. I have been doing as much research as I can on every aspect of RC Helis. I recently received my first book on helis. After reading many threads and talking to a local heli pilot at my field, I decided to order it. The book is Ray's Authoritative Helicopter Manual, authored by Ray Hostetler. The book/manual is over 200 pages and filled hundreds of pictures and illustrations. He describes every aspect of helis in great detail, from heli theory to flying. He gives many general guidelines on building, setup, and flying that apply to virtually all rc helis. The book cost around $25.00 USD shipped and can be ordered online from www.rcmmagazine.com. This book is well worth every penny. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to get into RC Helis or for anyone just starting out.

Ray's Authorative Helicopter Manual is an excellent manual. There is another one out there called The Basics of Radio Controlled Helicopters by Paul Tradelius. It is also a very good guide to help you set up the bird and get you in the air. Good luck with your Raptor!
