What do i need to hook up my TX to PC....
Will a training cable enable me to hook up my hitec laser 4 to my PC for use with simulator? Or are these only for connecting two recievers (instructor and student)? If not what do i need to connect my Tx to my Pc?

By the looks of things, you need a simulator that will come with a radio which will allow you to hook your current TX to it and in turn to your computer. I wanted to hook my TX directly to my pc but thats not the way to go. (although i heard some people have done it and it worked with some sucess)
Basically you need a slave radio that the simulator provides to use your own TX.

Actually, that's not the case. Most commercial simulators come with cables to connect your transmitter directly to the PC ... no other "slave radio" is required. I use the free FMS simulator with a cable that I made myself using instructions available online. There are also several places selling FMS cables.

Hey Keith,
Can you point me towards those instructions? I use FMS and I'm using a dual analog joystick at the moment. I'd really like to attatch my Tx to it instead.

RE: What do i need to hook up my TX to PC....
Well, if thats the case, I'd do it to... just where to get / make the cable ? (sorry for misleading info, I asked a guy in a hobby store and he told me I won't be able to hook my TX directly to my PC. I figured he was right but thats my mistake. I am sure the cable is much less than the simulator i could order from him. That's honesty for you eh ?) Anyways, if you have the info on how to make a cable like that I'd sure look at it. Thx

Here are some links.
[link=http://www.heliguy.com/nexus/fmsinterface.html]FMS Interface[/link] - This interface works only in older versions of Windows (not 2K or XP), but is really simple to make.
[link=http://www.mattclement.freeservers.com/fms/fms.html]R/C FMS Interface[/link]
[link=http://myweb.absa.co.za/eric.brouwer/]Eric Brouwer's R/C Homepage[/link]
[link=http://www.milehighwings.com/usb_cables.htm]USB Interface Cable[/link]
[link=http://www.tti-us.com/sim/products.html]Tom's RC Simulator[/link]
The first link is for free interface plans that work with Win 95,98,ME. The rest are links to commercial sites that sell interface cables. I can't seem to find the link I had to the plans for an interface that works on all versions of Windows. That interface requires the ability to program PIC microcontrollers, but if you have a PIC programmer and would like to try to build the cable, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you the plans. I've made several of these for Futaba Tx's with 6-pin trainer jacks and I believe the Hitec uses the same connector.
You can also buy these cables on eBay. Just go there and search for something like "FMS interface" or "FMS cable". You should find tons of them.
NOTE: these are only for the FMS sim. I've not tried to make anything to work with any of the other sims.

if you use a cable that connects to the COM jack on the back of your computer...take a look at my thread...it explains how to get the thing to work with XP...no software or hardware needed...just a couple XP setting changes...very simple

RE: What do i need to hook up my TX to PC....
I ordered an interface for my Laser4 (and now Eclipse7) here:
[link=http://www.milehighwings.com]http://www.milehighwings.com[/link]
Got it just a few days from ordering (which is VERY fast considering I live up in Norway). And it works just fine. Its USB and it pops up like a joystick in windows, and you can play any game/sim with. I use it for FMS and RealityCrafts` Rc Plane Master.
