Default servo problem - aerohawk

Hi I am a very novice to rc helicopters. I bought an Aerohawk and the first day I got it for some reason it went a bit crazy for some reason the motors wouldn't turn off when I moved the controller stick down, then the rc board fryed. Just got the parts this week and after having to put some female connectors on the wires as they were slightly different to the previous rc board I originally had I managed to get it all back together again. The motors are ok and no flashing lights BUT now the servos don't work!! Any ideas as for some reason there just doesn't seem to be anything coming from my controller to the helicopter servos. I did adjust the screws on the rc board from reading the various forums on this site but still nothing. Can anyone help please as I am looking forward to starting the big learning curve into flying and joining this world...
