Default Right or Left Throttle? Ni-MH vs. Li-Poly

I am in the process of purchasing a Walkera Dragonfly 22D, and I need some help! When the aircraft says "fixed pitch", does that mean that there is no collective, and that the up and down motion is controlled only by throttle? I am trying to decide whether I should get right or left hand throttle. I am right handed, so I want collective on right and tail rotor on left.
Also, I want to purchase a back-up battery. The stock battery is a 9.6v Ni-MH, and the Li-Po upgrades are available in only 7.6v and 11.1 volt, which one is least likly to cause motor damamge?? And is the Li-Poly really worth it, or should I just get another 9.6 Ni-MH?

I am right handed, so I want collective on right and tail rotor on left. It will prob arrive mode 2 w/throttle and rudder on the left...you might have to re-wire the TX unless they stock the mode you want.

And is the Li-Poly really worth it, or should I just get another 9.6 Ni-MH? Everyone I know whos upgraded to Li-poly packs would never think for a second of going back to NICD or NIMH.
