Default Questions reguarding G3 Simulator

Don't own any RC aircraft, but I'm toying with the idea and picked up this simulator to get an idea of what it's all about. Just curious about the variety of popular helicopters available on the sim. Also, if anyone could suggest which model and setup is best to start with. I hear there are different gyro options for some units, and I really don't know what that's all about.

I'd imagine the differences would be rate and heading hold gyros.

But I could be wrong, since i've never used Real-Flight

Heading? Hold? Ok, what's the 'newbie' gyro setup you'll usually find?

Don't worry about the gyro settings for the sim. Just fly. Crash. Reset and fly some more.
It will be fun to zoom your heli around the sky like superman, and actually, not really hard to do. But this will not do much for getting you ready for a real world model heli. Hover down low, do side in and nose in hovering. Do low, slow figure 8's, By low, I mean at or lower than the horizon. This forces you to manage altitude rather than using the superman zoom, and it gives you good background for referance, rather than just the sky for background.

And Woo Hoo, another Ohioan!

Most people, including myself, fly the Dominion 3D 90. For a heli to learn on try the Impala trainer.

I have real flight G2. Heading hold gyro is the way to go to get used to flying a heli. The heading hold gyro does just what the name implies. Holds the heading of the heli.
I have to agree that a 90 size heli is a very fine machine to learn with. Butt crashes can get very very expensive. A raptor 30 V2 is a fine starter nitro helicopter. While the 30 size heli's are not as stable as a 60 or 90 size, you can go a long ways with a 30. Crashes are expensive, they are not nearly as expensive as a 90 size heli.
Get a flight simulator. Real flight or reflex
Good luck!![sm=cool.gif]
