Default 6102 and new heli HELP

I recently bought a raptor 50 with a 401 gyro. I am using a JR 6102 radio. This is my first heli and i have no idea what i am doing. Do i need a better radio? Can someone give me some tips on setting up the gyro gains. Thanks Stefan

Everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask.

Don't know about the radio, I only fly Futaba but he's got JR setup stuff on his site as well.

Well dang.

Isn't most JR programming the same principle? I don't fly the things but I know all the Futaba stuff may not exactly transfer but I can usually figure out how to go from one model to another w/o much heart ache.

You can also try Run Ryder http://www.runryder.com thats where the serious heli bubba's hang out, you can always get help there for just about anything.

Stefan,
Your radio is just fine.. I run three heli's (with the GY401) and a few planes with the 6102... what do you need to know?

Plug your 401 gain lead in Gear channal and access your gain on screen with travel adjust.Set at +60 in regular mode and -60 in idel up 1 as you only have one stunt mode with a JR 6102.When you flik into idel up your screen will show a - dont worry thats how it looks but accualy it +60 .This should start you off.
