If I had to choose I would get Ni-MH just because they are generally higher capacity. having said that I use Ni-cads in my TX's because thats what they came with. They work fine so there is no reason for me to change. Either will work ok.

A 1600mah NiMH will last me all weekend with a little juice to spare. NiMH have a higher charge density so you can get more capacity in a given cell size/weight. Also at TX doesn't put a high current drain on a pack so even the older higher internal resistance NiMH cells work fine.
