Sounds reasonable to me. However, I know nothing about the Telebee gyro and I would look into the manufacturer of the li-po batteries and charger since it's not stated. Li-po batteries need to be well made. I prefer Thunder Power li-po's, but there are several good manufacturers out there.

I would be careful as it doesnt state what servos it comes w. A heli of this type you might want to go w the proven stuff out there like futaba or jr servos and such. I had offbrand servos on mine and it cost me as it worked fine on a ground check but would fail in the air thus resulting in 2 crashes before i found out the cheap servo was the culprit. Also do a search on the sellers rep, you'll save money and frustration in the longrun..

Also, find out what kind of lipos and charger it has. If it is a no name thing, then you might be better off piecing a Trex yourself. Plus, I would prefer to build my own heli just so I know every part myself. I know that prepackaged/preassembled deals sound enticing, but you end up spending more money in the long run replacing all the CRAP that came with the package.

Going to an XRB from the blade would be taking a step down, not up. T-rex is definiately the way to go.

This package is from rc-experts. I have read good and bad about them, but they seem to be getting better according to the dates of the posts in the forums. Am I correct?

I really appreciate all the input. Thanks.

The ALIGN ESC's are good value.

However the Align motors, despite being Outrunners, have a tendancy to get hot. Easy fix is to fit their own brand of Heat Sink, it just clicks on. Cost for one is only a few $.

The other weakenss is that they can pop the front cover.

Best to prize the cover off before you install the motor (use a very narrow bladed knife to slide the cover away from the case) clean up the flange and then apply generous amounts of the Green Loctite 609 "Retaining Compound" before sliding the front cover back on.
Allow overnight to cure.

Power wise the motors are excellent.

No motor... no speed control... no servos.. no battery... the KIT itself is always the cheapest part.

Sure you could use the T-Rex as a first heli. From what I have seen it will do just fine, but it will be a bit more difficult to learn on than a larger glow powered heli. The smaller helis are just not quite as stable.

If you want to get a package deal I highly suggest you look towards www.heliproz.com. They have good prices and quality components in their packages.
