Default whats a good pitch range for windy flying

I've read somwhere that its good to have around -2, to -4 negative pitch on your pitch range for flying in wind, is this true? I heard that you need the negative to bring the heli down when you are in certain wind conditions. Right now I have mine set to 0, 5, 9 which i find perfect for hovering but where I live its always windy and before I take it out to fly in wind I was wondering if I should change my ptich curve.

Negative pitch does in fact make flying in higher wind more comfortable. That way you can keep high head speed, and drop altitude when you get tossed too high. That was the driving force for us to move to using idle-up rather than normal mode.
Here is my brother's T-Rex in a 15 knot wind:

Yes, we fly the Rexies when the Nitro planes are grounded from excessive wind.

-2 to -4 is about right. Start with -2 and see how it feels. As you increase the pitch on the bottom end you make the collective stick more sensitive so go till your comfy then add some more.

No problem.

I've never flown a heli but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Actually, that was my brother flying while I took pictures. All the big nitro planes were grounded, and everyone was sitting in their lawn chairs when we showed up at the field. I am not afraid to throw my planes up, and my little dutchman (under one ounce plane) wowed everyone by being able to fly in that wind. Granted, I flew backwards much of the time, even at full throttle, but it was manageable. My brother got the idea of getting a picture of the Rexie with the fully filled wind sock in the frame. He worked like a DOG to keep it near the sock for the pictures. Exciting flying to say the least.
I have flown in high winds since then, but my T-Rex is waiting on a CCPM frame to get rid of some sloppy linkages that I have.
